Monday Memories: Salute to my Parents

Mama and Daddy August 1995. Trip to Grandfather Mountain, NC.
Last July both of them were gravely ill. Mama had lost 100% mobility and Daddy had just come out of a month long medically induced coma. Today they are a little more fragile but ON THEIR FEET and back home together. Mama's favorite saying is 'old age is not for sissies'. While watching them fight to regain their independence over the last year, I learned the meaning of TRUE GRIT.
I'm not sure I could endured all they did this last year.

WAY TO GO MAMA (81) DADDY (80).

  4. That is really a nice photo of your mom and dad. My grandma is 91. We all live with her here. She still takes herself to church on her own!

  6. A treasure of a story! By the way, the fireworks pics were taken with my old Sony4mp cam. When that died this past may, I upgraded to a better Sony 10mp WalMart!!!!
