THURSDAY THEME SONG: O CHRISTMAS TREE

How appropriate for December 1 to be on a Thursday.  Today we are featuring
O Christmas Tree-O Tannenbaum
for Hootin' Anni's very special meme day

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
Thy leaves are so unchanging
Not only green when summer's here
But also when 'tis cold and dreary
O Christmas tree! O Christmas Tree!
They leaves are so unchanging

Milky-Way, the peeps first kitty, was a tree hugger.  He adored the tree
the peeps always put the tree for about a week w/o decorations.  To give MW a chance to
get used to it.  One year he was caught right smack in the middle of it with his high beams shining

O Christmas tree! O Christmas tree!
Much pleasure thou can'st give me
How often has the Christmas tree
Afforded me the greates Glee!
O Christmas tree! O Christmas tree!
Much pleasure thou can'st give me

This is my human sis at 16 mos. old...(yes the Christmas tree is in the playpen)
to keep little sticky munchkins fingers from turning it over.

O Christmas tree! Oh Christmas Tree!
They candles shine so brightly!
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy candles shine so brightly!

MOL look at the white Christmas tree at my grandpeeps house 1974.

From the base to summit, gay and bright
There's only splendor for the sight
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy candles shine so brightly
It is I, Madi, sitting very lady like under the tree.
unlike Milky-way and my human sis I've never bothered
the tree!!  Guess we know who is the brightest bulb on the tree.
MOL

O Christmas tree! O Christmas Tree!
How richly God as decked the
Thou bidst us true and faithful be
O Christmas tree! O Christmas tree!

  2. Oh my gosh, we love the tree in the playpen idea. Milky Way seem to be thinking, if only she would put down that camera and go away I could climb right to the top of this tree undisturbed.

Madi, we know you are too much of a lady to bother things on the tree. I'm undecided on even putting up a tree this year. I've been letting a couple of the Krew inside sometimes and I don't think they would be as careful around the tree as you Madi.

  6. I was so tempted to put our tree in the playpen when the boys were little!
    Smart thinking, HiC! LOL
Yes, Madi, I guess Diva's don't have time to bat away at ornaments.
You have your reputation to uphold! :)

  7. What a lovely montage!! Milky-way... what a handsome guy (Thank God Madi came into your life or you would still be crying over him)! We are actually going to put our tree on the outside of the window this year! Our Edward just gets a bit too neurotic when it comes to trees and plants! Last year he was so sick... we don't want to be spending this year shouting at him to come out of the tree (not that we would...but we would be hoping up and down a whole lot!)! What we do for our animal loves... and children! - The playpen...that's the best one I've seen yet!
    Blessings

  8. Love the photos. It is always fun to look back and remember times we have had and to see our children as they grow. And to see how things have changed, like the different trees.
I always thought the white ones were pretty.
That is so funny to put the tree in the playpen. My kids never really bothered the tree much. I think they were always in awe of the lights and just wanted to watch it, and we had musical lights that flashed with the music when they were little, so that probably helped.
    Great Post!!

  11. Ah, such sweet memories. Mom wishes she could still have gotten that kind of playpen. No longer making them but she says they worked well for her.

Loved seeing the trees over the years.

  13. We got our Christmas tree put up last weekend, Madi! It's fun having a tree in the house! But I haven't bothered it at all.

In fact, mom said that none of her pets have ever bothered the tree. Not even Cap'n Ripley and his sisfur Molly when they were baby kittehs. But just like you, ALL the kittehs mom has had has LUVED to sit under the tree!

  14. Those are lovely pictures and just right for getting us in the Christmas spirit. We hope mum puts our tree up soon. Last year was the first year that Nott Me didn't pull it over.
