Since I never go outside..I asked Mom to take a few pictures of the cute things I get to see from my windows.

This Chelsea the Cheshire Cat.  She welcomes all our visitors
Lily the ladybug stands guard over our lariape which is
currently full of lovely lavender flowers.
Thad the turtle resides in the ivy near our bird bath
Felix the frog leaps about the ivy but never on Thad's head
Monty the man in the moon is nose to nose with the globe
This is Gertrude the Gazing ball
Rupert the Rabbit is nesting in the ivy by the front porch.
Thanks to my garden friends for posing for you all today
Hugs

A tale of Circles

Purr request for my pirate Cap'n Ripley is feeling poorly.  He and his family are waiting for some tests results to determine the cause.  He is the feline brother of the beautiful K9 brindle Mayzie.  Ripley won my ladycat heart the first time he spoke to me in his pirate accent.  Girls like guys with accents.  Hugs and purrs to you Cap'n.

On a day in the not to distant past, Mom nibble fingers
was putting up her very new (6 mo old camera S8100 Nikon) into its case when it slipped out of her hands.  Mom thought it was ok until she tried to take a picture. The camera case near the flash was cracked.  The only good news is Mom bought a service 1 year service plan.  The repair will take 4 to 6 weeks.  Thankfully she still has her Nikon Coolpix 3200 Mr. Slow Poke but it is
SLOW....no continous shoot feature as you will see below

Here I am walking towards Mom
By the time the Mr. Slow Poke was ready Mom only got a picture of my most fluffy tail instead of an up close face shot.
OMC then she clicks again and gets my tush in all it's glory
While circling the room, she snaps again and ta da where is Madi?
I finally completed circling the room ending up at this humongous
circle on the floor. My laser eyes are trying to X-ray it to see if it is an alien about to invade my inner circle.
Mom assured me I was safe.  This is her new exercise hoop.  It is 42" in diameter and weighted. OMC you should see Mom doing the hula with it.  Evidently, she was a master at the old fashion hula hoop and even though this is humongous it works the same way. To bad Mr. Slowpoke would never be able to take pictures of Mom using the hoop.
Dad only tries to do it when we are not in the room.  All we here is thump, thump, thump as it hits the floor.  MOL

THURSDAY THEME SONG: My Special Angel

Thank you Hootin Anni for sponsoring
My Special Angel is beautiful song recorded by many artists
today we are featuring Bobby Helms.
Angel, angel, whoa-oh-oh-oh,whoa
My Special  Kitty Angel
You are my special angel
Sent from up above
The Lord smiled down on me
And sent me a Kitty angel to love
You are my special angel
Right from paradise
I know you're an angel
Heaven is in your eyes
The smile from your lips brings the summer sunshine
Tears from your eyes bring the rain
I feel your touch, your warm kitty pads
And I'm in heaven again
You are my special angel
Through eternity
I'll have my special angel
Here to watch over me........

HAT DAY AND MY WORLD SHOOK

...is a very specical day in Blogville, USA.
The handsome and debonair, Mr. Pip and the most beautiful Ruby, and her handsome Rottie bros, Bart and Gizmo suggested that all of
the kitties and puppies who have been lucky enough to be
"HATTED" by the most talent Mama Judi at SAS
display our hats today.  If you have not been hatted, please click on the Mama J link above to find out all about it.  Until I met Mama J, Sammy, Andy and Sassy I had no clue I could wear a hat; however, as you will see in the following pictures, I'm now a hat girl!

This is my purrty in pink Diva Chef Hat.
I think my green laser eyes compliment the pink

This is my most gorgeous Easter Bonnet.
Mama Judi is very good a selecting just the right hat and color to match your furs.
OMC this is Mom's favorite 'cause she is a big, big, big fan of
RED.  Do you see the itty, bitty ladybug on the Santa cap?
Mama Judi is a big fan of ladybugs which she often puts on the hats.
Please click here to read about helping furiends in need.
Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed
the "HAT Parade".

Friends let me tell you yesterday, Aug. 23, my world was literally shakened by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in Virgina. Mom and I were upstairs blogging/napping (respectively).  All of a sudden her hands started shaking, she raised them a tad and lo and be hold the keyboard was moving.  She bellowed asked Dad if he felt that he said what as he was walking toward the 'puter.  When he got in here the entire desk was shaking. While Dad was investigating things. Mom found me slinking about downstairs, she  manhandled me, grabbed my carrier and stuffed me in it like a Thanksgiving turkey.  Then it was over.  I was about to have a talk with mom about the proper handling and care of a Diva but explained all about earthquakes so I gave her my 100% permission to manhandle me again if need be.
Shaken but not stirred,
Madi

OBSERVATIONS OF A MALL WALKER

FIRST OF ALL HAPPY 3RD B-DAY TO MY GOOD PAL THE HANDSOME LABRA-DUDE

*****
This morning I felt like I needed to sleep so
I gave Mom 100% blogging privileges today.
Disclaimer:
I'm not responsible for anything written today!!
Scroll down at your own risk.

Yes, it is true, my name is Madi's Mom, and I'm a mall walker.

Monday August 1, 2011, I began my fifth month as a MALL WALKER.  Up until my retirement on April 1, 2011, my plan was to continue my love of walkng each day out of doors, after all I had been trapped in an office for 25 years.  I was not dragged to the mall kicking and screaming. I  got up each morning ate my Cheerios, dressed and voluntarily joined my husband on his one hour treks around our local mega Mall.

Over the last five months, not only have I become an avid mall walker, I have also become an avid observer of mall walkers. We are a motely bunch folks from all walks of life brought together each day between 7 am and 10am striving for fitness. There is a mall walker's meeting once a month (as of this writing we NEVER plan to attend).

Today I'd like to tell you about my observations.

Mall Traffic:
All mall walkers have their own distinct style of walking and predetermined route.   On any given day, there could be 20 or 30 folks traipsing around both levels of the mall. For this reason, we feel that mall walkers should observe laws of the road.. always walk to the right. However, we have found there are rebel rouser mall walkers who joy in walking the wrong way.  *They walk the width of an asile often they stop smack dab in the middle of the asile to talk about a window display.  This behavior messes up the ebb and flow of foot traffic. Over the months we have learned to avoid these groups.

Takers:
Several days a week we see one particular non mall walker, come into the mall with either a used Panera ice tea cup or coffee cup.  Panera's policy is free refills while in the Cafe only. It is not a free for life refill policy.  She sneaks in the back door of Panera with her cups gets her refill then leaves.  That is just naughty!!

Nicknames:
We have tagged many of the walkers with 'nicknames' due to their style of walk or habits.

1. Hoodie lady, she has more tops with hoods than I've ever seen in my life and in all colors.  She must own stock at Old Navy.
2. Cabbie Hat lady, she has cabbie hats to match all of her outfits
3. Wild arm man, as he walks he swings his right arm so hard it goes up to his head as if to salute all the while his left arm behaves.
4. Mad hatter always carries his hat in his hand.  We wonder why he doesn't leave it in the car.
5. Preppie lady, she always has a sweater tied around her shoulders...never wears it
6. Newspaper man, he and his wife walk together but he reads the newspaper while walking. She is about 2 steps behind him.  When he finishes with a section of the paper, he briskly tosses it back to her. Often she walks pushing a Sears cart and she'll put the paper in the cart.  The news is heavy but REALLY is a cart necessary? LOL
7. First Sargent he always walks down the middle of the mall, very tall and straight as if in formation.
8. Geisha lady, she walks very fast but takes very tiny steps.
9. Odd Couple, she has ankle weights and carries hand weights in each hand.  She walks ahead of him. They usually coordinate the color of their tops.
10. *Moving Road block, their group consists of 3 to 5 and sometimes 6 females.  They insist on walking together, they walk abreast slowly, stop on a whim to talk or look at a window and generally cause road blocks.
11. Celebrity Gal:  She walks inside the mall with sunglasses on and a ball cap.  A young man walks with her but they don't talk.  We suppose he is her body guard.  We hope to get a peep at her one day.
12. The Biker Dudes: None are younger that 65, they ride their bikes to the mall everyday, park their bikes inside under the stairs while having a bagel.  We're just plain envious of them to be riding bikes some distances at their ages.   Way to Go Biker Dudes
13. Same clothes Sally:  She walks 3 or 4 days a week.  She has worn the same clothes every day since I started walking in April.
Surely they need to be washed by now.
14.  Flip Flip Flo:  She doesn't walk every day but the days she walks she has rubber flip flops that always match her dress. Yes she wears a very nice and fashionable dress to walk in.
15. Stairmister:  Walks several fast laps around the upper mall ending his walk with 10 or 15 minutes going up and down the same staircase every day IN THE WAY.

Respectfully submitted
Madi's Mom
Thank you for your attention, Madi will be back tomorrow.

Miss Mindy is my BDFF. Please pop over to wish Ms. G a happy day.
******
AND today
......is Senior Citizens Day according to Mom's
Whimiscal Calendar.

As you might remember, I recently had my Senior Kitty
check up and my two peeps are retired Senior Citizens
older than dirt.  So while the 3 of us are celebrating being 'Senior'
I thought I'd share some pictures of all 3 of us when we were
younger, meaner and leaner
********
1. This photo was taken the very day I was adopted, May 12, 2002
I'm playing bitey face with my sister Lucy (who was adopted by my uncle).  We were 2 months old.

2. This was taken on June 18, 2002, I was 3.5 months old.  As you can see, I was already perfecting my Diva posing skills
3. Dad at (39ish) Mom at (34ish)
Dad has a brother but I don't have a picture of them playing bitey face; however, they do play punch each other in the arms.
Mom is an only child she never played bitey face
so sometimes I put a bitey on her just so she'll feel special
