FRIDAY FUNNIES

Mom loves the cartoon "Rhymes with Orange".  Today she'd like to share a particularly funny Rhymes with Orange.
"Dogs are helpers, protectors and companions.  What do cats offer?
Cats offer the opportunity to experience Royalty."

The picture below shows me on one of my many thrones.

Hugs,
Madi, Queen of the house
Note from Mom: We haven't had a working home phone since Monday and my internet issues come and go.  On Thursday my internet just shut down on its own 2 or 3 times.  I finally just
turned everything off.  Hopefully today will be better.
AT&T promised us phone repair by Friday Sept. 2 which I expect means internet will be better too..!!???

THURSDAY THEME SONG: Purple People Eater

MOM AND I THANK HOOTIN' ANNI FOR SPONSORING
We hope you enjoy
"THE ONE EYED ONE HORNED
FLYING PURPLE PEOPLE EATER",
by Mr. Sheb Wooley
as much as Mom enjoyed posting it.  This comical song came out in 1958..when Mom was only nine years old but it was very popular. She said she heard it for the first time on American Bandstand which was hosted by the one and only, Mr. Dick Clark.
Sit back and enjoy this fun song:

Well I saw the thing comin' out of the sky
It had one long horn

and one big eye, I commenced to shakin' and I said ooh-eee
It looks like a purple people eater to me. It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin'
purple people eater. Sure looks strange to me (One eye?)
Well he came down to earth and he lit in a tree
I said Mr. Purple People Eater, don't eat me
I heard him say in a voice so gruff, I wouldn't eat you cuz you're so tough.

Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin' purple people eater, Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater, we wear short shorts flyin' purple people eater, he looked straight at me
And then he swung from the tree and he lit on the ground, he started to rock, really rockin' around
It was a crazy ditty with a swingin' tune.

Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin' purple people eater
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flying purple people eater.....
Then he went on his way, and then what do you know I saw him
last night on a TV show, he was blowing it out, and really knockin' em dead...Playing rockin' roll
music through the horn in his head......
One-horned one-eyed flying purple people eater.

BUT......

....I can fly too....
Kitties and puppies do your peeps ever get obsessed with other creatures so much that they post 4 pictures of them and only one of you? That happened to me but I must admit these are some pretty amazing pictures of a

SWALLLOWTAILED BUTTERFLY
Mom took about a gazillion pictures of it
while it was having a light snack
on our Lantana bush beside the front steps

Mom says you may click on the pictures to get a closer look at this magnificent Swallowtail.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SIS

Irene update:  Sis and her hubby lost power about 3am yesterday,
they had some leaking around windows.  Thank goodness
Irene made land as a Cat. 1 storm which is strong but nothing like the Cat.3 that was predicted.  As for us, we just had lots of rain and wind and lots of dip in our power so we only stayed on the 'puter for short periods of time.  We hope to visit more today.
Thank you all for your kind words and purrs!!

MY ONE AND ONLY SIS.  I'M NOT ALLOWED TO
TELL YOU HOW OLD SHE IS BUT SHE WAS BORN ON AUGUST 28TH.  THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN WHEN SHE
WAS 2 MONTHS OLD ON OCTOBER 24, 1971..(you can do the math). MOL
For a two legger she was pretty darn cute.

According to Mom's records she weighed 9 lbs. 14 oz. and was 23" long.  Here is an excerpt of what Mom wrote below the little munchkin's picture:
"She is making cute noises that sound like kisses, she smiles a lot, and she is a doll and a treasure beyond description."
Mom said an updated version of this description she would say Sis,  "uses her big girl words instead of making cute little noises and she is still a doll and a treasure beyond description".
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS FROM YOUR
FURRY SIBLING.
