SATURDAY PHOTO HUNT

THE WORD FOR SATURDAY PHOTO HUNT IS

HEART

 EVERYONE KNOWS HOW MUCH I

HEART

MOM
The leaves of the Red Bud trees are heart shaped.
However, the flower is purple...we have no idea why it is called a Red Bud!! We do enjoy the one in our side yard that mysteriously popped up several years ago.  Now it is about 10' tall and full of heart shaped leaves.

  5. You know what I think of it!! Already. I do love this whole tree...the fact it has heart shaped leaves and it blossoms. I hope you take a photo of it when it blossoms and share that with us too, Madi!! And Mom!!!

And yes, I can tell just how much the two of you 'heart' each other. Even when you give 'er demerits...it's still filled with love.

  7. I never knew that about the Red Bud tree leaves, Madi!
My mom had one at her old property and it was so pretty
when it bloomed. You're lucky to have one!
But you're right, it looks more purple!

  8. And we have no doubt that Mom loves you just as much and more, Madi. We have often wondered about that red bud with the purple flowers too, but it sure is beautiful when it is in bloom.

    Happy Saturday.

  10. I'd never heard of the Redbud before, but how cool that it has heart shaped leaves!! I was curious about the name too, but a search on google didn't yield the info as to why it is called redbud.

P.S. I found you today from another blog -- and I hope you will visit my blog, as I am a bonafide kitty lover!

  11. We love the red bud tree! Our mom wanted one but our neighbor has one right near the place where our mom would have it planted. So she doesn't want two next to each other. Our neighbors' red bud's leaves are purple too!! It's a different variety than what you normally see.
