Tuesday Tale of one Shoe: 3 Days to go

On several blogs, during the summer we have seen posts that ask...

JUST HOW HOT IS IT....
We are about to tell you just how hot it was in our fine city.
Every morning, rain, shine, snow or heat wave Mom and Dad go to Crabtree Valley Mall to take a walk indoors. Some days they will venture out into the parking just to see just how hot it is.
It was hot enough to make the joint compound in the parking lot turn to gray goo.

Exhibit 1
At about the time Mom was asking Dad what is that smell, her foot was stuck in gray goo...as the old saying goes..first you step in it then you smell it. MOL.
I gave it the Madi Sniff test which it failed
Exhibit 2
I was so amazed by the mess Mom made I gave her other shoe a sniff but it was clean. I thought that was a good thing but it wasn't!!

These shoes were not even 6 months old. AND MOM REFUSES to throw them away.  She has tried everything she knows but cannot get it out of the groves and the gray goo is actually still sticky.
PSA
If you, or any one you know happened to step in gray goo or cow poo, with your left Nike Pegasus 270GTX, size 9, and your right shoe is clean...Mom would love to make you an offer you cannot refuse....just leave a message in the comments
Sincerely,
Madi

  4. Now that is hot! Our mama got some stuff sort of like that (asphalt like stuff) stuff on the bottom of her shoes. Dad got it out with some WD-40. Don't know if it will help with your stuff or not.

Sorry you didn't find any good smells Madi.

  6. Alas we cannot help you but my human shoves the shoes in the washing machine on a wool cycle and it never fails to clean them up. Not that I leave doggy mess around, if you know what I mean. Happy Tuesday to you all.
    Best wishes Molly

  18. Sorry we can't help - the Momster wears a 10 1/2 Super Slim - and can't even find a pair for herself that fit well:( We have lots of bubbles popping up in the pavement on our street. Lightning keeps stepping on them, thinking they are like eggs and will crack to give him a yummy treat:)

  19. So sorry about the stinky on the shoe. That stuff is awful! I had that happen in Texas but it got on both of my shoes! Good luck finding some one with the same problem on the other foot! ;)

  20. Mommy says: Carburetor cleaner! The purple stuff. That might work. Also, put the shoe in the freezer and try to chip it off.

  24. We're still on a break but couldn't help but notice your post today Madi! We all went to the Aquatica water park with our visitors and some friends last week and one of our friend's shoes actually MELTED in the sun! He had to walk out of the park barefoot on the hot pavement. Ouch!

  25. Hey, Madi, maybe if your mom stuck that shoe in the freezer, that goo will freeze and she can get it off.

  26. Oh, so awful! Looks like you got some good suggestions! Hope one of them works for your mom!

  27. Madi.... Flat Max was traveling with Susan, so he couldn't stop to see you while they passed through North Carolina. Believe me if HH had been traveling with Flat Max, they would have bee-lined it for your house.... Have a great day.
