Thursday Theme Song: Green Grass

Mom and I thank Hootin' Anni for hosting

Crazy Mom had 2 lines from today's song stuck in her head for 2 weeks.  She thought the name of the song was "Spring time" but could not find it anywhere.  Bless Google's heart, she plugged in the two lines in her head.  Lo and behold the name of the song is GREEN GRASS, by Gary Lewis and the Playboys from 1966.
Please click on the video to hear the song while you look at the pictures. She changed a few words to match the pictures we had.

Green grass 'round my window
Young leaves that the wind blows
Our Japanese Maple picture take 3/18/12
Yes, it is springtime, golden sunshine
Cedar waxwing
And we're glad, my little love and I
Now that summer time is nigh
 Carefree kissing couples
Dream away all their troubles
'cause it is springtime, golden sunshine
White breasted nuthatches at our bird bath
While (blue birds) cedar  waxwings sing their magic song
We'll love the summer long
All the winter we've been waitin'
My girl and I anticipatin'
What we're gonna do with the summer over due
Now it is here, we're out together.

So the weatherman had better
Do his best to make a show and bring the sunshine out to grow the
GREEN GRASS under my window.......................
Our Japanese Red Maple picture taken March 23, 2012 it filled out completely in 5 days
Mom and I thank you for stopping by today and we hope this happy song made you wiggle just a bit.

Tuesday Tale/Tails

Every afternoon at about 3:55, my inner lioness awakens letting me know it is nearly time for din-din.
I have to go on a seek and find mission looking for Mom.
Once I find her, I wait politely in her field of vision hoping she will see me.
If she fails to notice me immediately, I march in place with my tail held high, roaring meowing until she gets her tush in gear!!
That is just how I roll.

SOCKS: THE SAGA

Every two-legger has gazillion pair and twice as many whose mate has been lost in the dark hole of the washing machine. Socks are readily available at 87 million stores, in as many colors.....
BUT
my crazy as a loon Mom has been trying to crochet unsuccessfully  socks for more years than I've been alive.
Mom bought this darling little project bag that Nina's Mom made.
She is convinced it will bring her lots of good luck for a successful
200th attempt a crocheting socks.

Mom tells me she has no problem with the socks until she gets
to the heel flap.  There are only 3 rows involved in making the heel
flap.  She can make a gigantic afghan with 100 times more rows and scarves that are 6' long; however, for some reason
the 3 rows of the heel flap are the 8th Wonder of the World
SO I VOLUNTEERED to help with this time.
She is using a new sock pattern because she is convinced all the other patterns have had major errors in the instructions.  MOL
I gave the yarn a good sniff to make sure it had good ju-ju
all around it.
I counted the stitches on each row to confirm she was following the instructions (she wasn't)!!
.
I told her I would be in charge of reading the very clearly written instructions to her until she could follow them by herself.
I intend to do everything I can to be sure she is successful with the first sock.....and let's hope she has enough fun with it to make the second sock.  Otherwise it will end up in the missing mate drawer.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE CONTINUED..........
