BLOGVILLE SLED DAY

I'M READY FOR SLED DAY
I HAVE ON MY NEW TOBOGGAN
AND MY BEST FUR COAT.

I AM BEYOND THRILLED TO BE A PART OF
SARGE'S

Since this was my first time in the snow and on a sled, I
asked Sarge if I could (thanks Sarge for providing such a great ride) try a cafeteria tray first.
After a few trips down the kitty slopes, I felt confident enough to
hop on this Arctic Ice Breaker to do some serious sledding.
OMDS/OMCs you will never in a gazillion years guess how
COOOOOOOOOOL THIS RIDE WAS!!! MOL

ONE OF THE FORMER GRADUATE STUDENTS MOM WORKED WITH IS WORKING IN THE FIELD OF BLUE ICE.  HE SENT MOM THIS ABOVE PICTURE OF HIS TRIP
TO THE ARCTIC.  HE IS ON THE RIGHT USING A HAND DRILL TO GET CORE
ICE.

Madi meets Madi

DURING JANUARY OUR GOOD FRIEND HH OVER AT
TOOK ON THE CHALLENGE OF PAINTING 30 CATS IN 30 DAY. MOM SENT HH HER FAVORITE PICTURE OF ME FOR HH TO PAINT.  AFTER IT WAS PAINTED, WE HAD FIRST DIBS ON BUYING IT.   MOM WHIPPED OUT THE PLASTIC SO FAST IT MADE MY HEAD SPIN.
HERE I AM MEETING
CANVASS MADI FOR THE FIRST TIME.

Bugsy and Knuckles left me some very interesting smell mail
you will never believe the next picture....
Mom held the picture up to get a better look and lo and behold
I jumped up to give it another sniff.
Mom had no idea she had snapped a picture of this until she
downloaded the pictures.
She thought this was a very unique picture.
HH we absolutely love it.  Mom has it on the
mantel over our fireplace right where everyone can see it
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
HUGS MADI AND MOM

The Diva and the Towel Tale

Adapted loosely from the Princess and the Pea

Let me first set the scene.  Every Saturday Mom changes
the linens and it is my job to inspect the bed.  Sometimes I help from start to finish and sometimes I arrive just as she is finishing.

Mom left the pillows all messy on the bed.  I cannot
nap under these circumstances.

Looks like it is up to me to get things in order
I'll make a few biscuits on this pillow on the way to my
special SPOT

WHOA WHAT THE HECK IS UP MY CLEAN
TOWEL IS NOT IN MY SPECIAL SPOT
DEMERITS ARE IN ORDER.

MAYBE SHE LEFT IT BEHIND THIS PILLOW
NOPE
MOOOOOOOOOOOOM  IT IS NAP TIME
I WANT MY TOWEL IN MY SPOT PRONTO

OK THIS IS MORE LIKE IT...YOU KNOW MY MAYORAL
TUSH CANNOT NAP WITHOUT THE PROPER AMOUNT OF
SOFTNESS THE TOWEL MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.

Note from Mom:  This is the exact sequence of pictures
taken last Saturday.  Madi was on her way to nap only to
find her towel missing.  She went back to the bedside table
let out a big MEOW.
As soon as I put the towel down, she settled down for a long winter's nap.

Madi is all about the destination not the journey.

 THIS IS MY HAPPY FACE
You know how to tell..
My ears are straight up.

THAT IS A  CRYSTAL BIRD CHANDELIER
MoM took this last Friday during our
Sleet and ice event
 THAT IS OUR JAPANESE MAPLE
COVERED IN ICE
It was glistening when Mom took the picture
I don't think she could get any closer because she was afraid
she would fall and bust her chin wide open.
(MOL, she says this all the time when I jump
finally I can say it to her)!!

BREAKING NEWS (literally)
We had about 1/2 " ice Friday night, pictured above.
Saturday morning at 9:30 my 83 year old
Grandpa decided it was a good idea to got out
to get his paper down his steep drive way.
We don't know why he thought this was a good idea.
BECAUSE it was not!!
He fell and slid down the drive way.
He had lots of scratches on his legs, shin and chin.
He also hit is nose and caught himself on is hand.
Yesterday he found out his right hand and nose are broken.
He is very lucky it was no worse than it is.....

My grandpeeps have a home health aide  24/7 but there
are some things she cannot like bills, groceries etc so Mom will be in and out. Mom has several post  pre set for posting but our
commenting and visiting will be scattered about.
We will keep you updated.

MONDAY: MEET MY CABINET

Mom and I are happy to present a new series "MEET MY CABINET'  which will
air on Mondays.  We have 10 questions we will be sending each and every member of out cabinet
we hope you find the questions interesting and informative.

Today we are featuring our
COMMISSIONERS of all things DOWN UNDER

LADIES MOM AND I THANK YOU FOR THE EXCELLENT, WELL THOUGHT OUT ANSWERS

1. Please introduce yourselves, tell us your age and a very special trait.
My name is Daisy, I'll be 10 in March.  I'm the top dog in our house.  Next we have Bella who will be 4 this year, and last is Roxy who will be 2.  I, Daisy, am the peace keeper in the family and keep the others in line.  Bella and I are both typical scotties.  We are aloof with people and will only have a cuddle on our terms.  Roxy, on the other hand is anyones.  She loves everybody and thinks they want to be kissed and cuddled.  Bella and I are dignified--Roxy is....well....Roxy.
2. If you had an alter ego who would you be?
We like being who we are and don't really have alter egos.
3. What do you like best/least about where you live and why.
We live in a city of 40,000 in New South Wales. It is mostly a farming area, and our city provides the services needed by the outlying towns and villages.  There are loads of places to walk in our area...we rarely do the same walk every day.  And our favourite places are anywhere near the river.  We love getting wet, the sand and mud.  Also, there are lots of birds to chase.  If we could change one thing though, it would be the bindiis (burrs).  They get tangled in our furs, stuck in our paws and are a pain--literally.  We'd love for them to disappear!
4. Who are some of the peeps/furiends you'd like to meet and why
You ask who we'd like to meet. There are so many. Basically, we'd love to meet any of the Blogville residents!
5. If you could give one piece of random advice what would it be?
The piece of advice we try to live by is that quote from 'Auntie Mame'...."Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death"  As Mame says, 'Live, live, live'.  Enjoy the day-to-day stuff because the big things you wait for, may not happen.
6. What do you do for fun?
For fun, we just run, chase birds, investigate, keep track of what's happening in the 'hood, play bitey face and snooze.  We're always up for treats.  (Bella watches television and Roxy plays with squeaky toys.)
7. What is the first thing you do each morning?
First thing very morning, we race outside to see if our borders have been breached during the night and then go sit in front of the cabinet to get our breakfast bones.  Then we wait for HER  to take us for our early morning walk.
8. What is the first thing you notice about new furiends?
The first thing we notice about new friends is their smell.  Friendly animals give off a friendly scent.
9. Tell us how you came to live in your family and how you got your name.
I, Daisy, was a meant-to-be dog.  Scotties are hard to get in Australia, and females almost impossible.  But when HER mother died, SHE wanted to spend some of the inheritance on a female scottie.  SHE was going to Sydney for the weekend and just happened to find an ad for scotties--almost unheard of.  SHE arrived on Mother's Day and I chose HER.  Daisy was HER mother's favourite flower, so that's how I got my name.  I'm the Memorial scottie.
Bella was 5 months old when she arrived so she kept her name.  Roxy was a rescue pup and her litter all had names beginning with 'R'.  She was 5 months old, so she kept her name, too.
10. What is your absolute favorite food?
Our VERY favourite food is FISH!  We love sardines, fish skin jerky, or any other kind of fish, cooked any way. ( Roxy loves to roll in dead fish at the river.)
We would like to finish by saying we hope we will be worthy of the trust you have placed on us.
