Sunday Scents and Sights

 They are back.....I expressed my
displeasure by greeting them from atop the
table.
(Mom says to tell you the new chairs closest to the window are getting too much sun...so she has to
keep them covered until they get blinds.  Instructions said to keep out of direct sun)

Actually I fibbed just a little I did greet
them with open paws at the front door...then I jumped on the table...after I gave mom a sniff

She came home smelling like MacGyver
the Cairn Terrier from Virginia.
All she could talk about was how he followed
her all over and slept in their room and yada yada yada....and how he would sit by her on the couch ..
frankly all the talk gave me a migraine.

They were able to leave Gyvie long enough to visit Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson.
On Friday October 10
Monticello is located in Charlottesville, VA
It is currently undergoing a face lift
Mr. Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence and third President of the United States and founder of the University of Virginia

Mom has a few more pictures she'll share...
however, much to Mom's dismay...it started raining shortly after they arrived so outside photos were limited and none are allowed inside. THE weather forecast WAS WRONG. It was wet, cooooool and they didn't have umbrellas.
Their tour guide told them on October 10, 1979
there was 2' of snow at Monticello. So rain was the lesser of two evils.

Too bad about the RAIN... Our mom says that Monticello is a fabulous place. She thinks Mr.Jefferson was BRILLIANT... He found a way to make exact copies of the thingys he wrote... with a thingy that he Invented... PLUS he invented the dumb waiter... AND Wrote the Declaration of Independence. BRILLIANT...

  15. No umbrellas?? Oh, that can be very bad! Glad they had a good get-away though. Now of course the bigger question is why they neglected you to pay attention to a doggie?

  16. Amazing the guide remembered 1979 there was snow! Wow just typing 1979 makes it seems so so long ago. Madi it looks like you have found a new sun spot! Our DR table is one of our prime time snoozey sun spots. Mom gave up and put many layers of comfortable blankets so we lie there in comfort.
