Freaky Friday and PSA

Mom went back to 2011 for this
collage.  She didn't have a very good
filing system then. When pictures were loaded to
the old computer they all went in one folder.
The new computer files them by day.

You may click on the collage to enlarge it.

TALL TALE TUESDAY

Last Thursday Hailey and Zaphod's Lady had a post about
about challenging pets and figuring out just what they need.  Mom said it brought back memories
ME trying to TRAIN my PEEPS, which by the way is a work in progress.
Mom told this tall tale on me way back in 2009.  She thought it was time to
poke fun at me again with pictures.  She did not have a digital camera in 2002 so there are no actual pictures...

Dear Hailey's Lady...it is Madi's lady here to say bravo for this post and for your solution!!

Madi is our second cat...and oh dear me she is 360 degrees different from Milky-Way our first cat. Madi should thank her lucky stars MW came first 'cause he paved the feline road to our hearts in gold.  Every piece of furniture in this house was in the same place when MW lived here but he never ever had lofty thoughts.

I have heard for years cats are either tree
dwellers (like high places) and she is a champion jumper

or bush dwellers (like being on the ground).
Madi has a split personality she likes both.

Within 4 months of living here, 5 lb Madi, figured out she could jump on the back of the white chair (below) by the fireplace, jump over the floor lamp, onto the mantel without disturbing anything on the mantel.
FYI: the GRITS is an acronym
Girls Raised In The South...a very dear friend gave it to me.
Thank you CAT!

She sashayed to the other end of the mantel where she jumped up on top of the 8' secretary.  She was once again found chewing on the finial.
We were pretty sure she was a beaver and a mountain goat in a kitten body.
To solve that we had to move the chair to the middle of the room.

Next she jumped from the banisters of our stairs to the top of the Grandfather clock...where she was found chewing on that finial.
Her launching point was where the wicker step basket sits.
Well solving this was harder we could not move the clock and she would not stop jumping up there so we covered it with a quilt which was secured with duct tape.
The clocked stayed wrapped in the quilt for several months.

FINALLY IT DAWNED ON ME SHE NEEDED A HIGH CAT TREE (MW NEVER HAD ONE).
Madi can easily jump from the corner of the dining room table
to the perch and does it often

THANKFULLY NO MORE HIGH WIRE ACTS FOR HER.
YES SHE WAS A CHALLENGE FROM DAY ONE.
Madi is a perpetual teenage girl nothing is ever exactly like she wants it and she is quite verbal. Nearly 12 years later she SHE KEEPS US LAUGHING, HAS THE BEST PURR IN THE WORLD and we LOVE HER DEARLY. We, too, had to learn not to compare Madi with MW and like children all pets are different. Our first pet was a mighty mini Dachshund, Toto. You know about Doxies...stubborn, serious attitude and strong willed. We often say Madi is part Doxie.   I wanted to say BRAVO to you for loving Hailey for who she is.

Dr. Seuss Day

Today we are celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday
with a very feeble attempt (on Mom's part, I cheered her on)
with a poem.

THEY CALL ME MADI THE DIVA KITTIE
SOMETIMES THEY CALL ME PIGGIE
BECAUSE I BEG FOR PITY

WHENEVER MY TUMMY IS EMPTY
BUT ONE THING FOR CERTAIN-TY
MOM NEEDS MORE PITY
THAN MADI THE DIVA KITTIE
BECAUSE HER RHYMING SKILLS
ARE PATHETIC-TI-KY
