Thursday Tale: Tree Monkeys Returneth

You will probably remember this photo from our post on Saturday 2/28/15 about
the falling pine tree limb barely missed Gracie our Highlander on Thursday 2/26/15.
As soon as the peeps saw this on Thursday morning, they were on the phone calling
the Tree Monkeys to get on their schedule to have the offending trees removed
Well lo and behold the peeps are very good customers to the tree monkeys
They came to our house Saturday morning....and they were noisy.
They came with a chipper machine shown below.
OMCs you would not want your paws to get caught in that thing.
It actually ate up and spit out huge sections of trees and limbs
 They were very efficient and
I was happy to see one of the Tree Monkey's had
impressive climbing skills.  He made this climb look easy!!

During the entire ordeal I sat right here....cause I knew Mom had my back
but I was ready to scurry if need be.

In spite of the cold and miserable conditions, mom really loved how the
ice formed on the bird feeder domes.  She said it reminded her of
old fashioned lamp shades with crystals hanging from the shades
Yay mom she always tries to see the beauty in things.
We are thrilled to say the last pine trees that could potentially threaten our house
are now gone.  The yard looks rather pathetic but we'll plant some pretty flowering trees like
dogwoods and crepe myrtles this spring to fill in the gaps.

  6. I finks we need to borrow your tree monkeys. When ours visited, they chopped the top off a tree and just threw it to the ground, well, not the ground but onto one of Dad's bonsai's! You should have heard Mum's language.....on second thoughts , no you shouldn't. Then the tree monkey tried telling Mum that's the way these things were done...Oophs! Apparently not in our back yard!

  18. I always wanted to plant a dogwood in our yard but never got around to it. I know you are glad to be rid of the pine trees. WE have several huge ones in our yard. Glad everything went so well. Madi under the bed with all that buzzing would have been a great idea.

  19. The icicle formations are so pretty. Mom actually still has two lamps with crystals hanging from them in her bedroom. They belonged to her Mom but they aren't dome-shaped - they are like tulips:)

Good for those tree monkeys - no more problems from those trees. We think we might like that kind of tree monkey better than the evil tree rats:)

  20. It is nice that they could respond so quickly! We used to have 3 pine trees between our house and the neighbor's and they always tilted. They were young trees. After always propping them back up for about 3-4 years, dad realized they would probably always do that so out they came! They went with the "remove 'em while it's cheap" plan.

    Murphy & Stanley

  22. Your mom described the bird feeders purrfectly. Our mom is one of those always seeing the silver lining kind of people. It is snowing here again today...big puffy flakes coming down very hard! We are not thinking we can find anything positive about it. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
