Stare

Sometimes I stare into out of space

Sometimes I stare into your face

Sometimes I stare just to give you a scare

Sometimes when I stare it is without care.
When all is said and done, a stare is just a stare it is not that rare

and most times there is nothing there!

THE END

Dental Bridge Update from yesterday's post from Mom

I got home at 1:15 yesterday .  I was in the chair from 9:50am until 12:50 pm...minus a short potty break.  Thank goodness I went ahead and did not tarry on the appt. After a nice shot of Novocaine... The removal of the bridge was a piece of cake...took about 15 min.  The prep on the anchor teeth and the yanking and tugging and stretching of my small mouth (stop laughing it is small but works good) was rough.  They have to pack string around the anchor teeth to keep the gum off when making the impression.  I could feel that a bit had a choice of getting another shot in the roof of my mouth too but I was told it would sting worse than a bee bite so I decide to (not) grin and bear it.  I cannot chew on the left side (Madi might indeed have to chew my food) AT all until I have the perm bridge and it was suggested to have a soft diet for 2 weeks nothing like steak or pork chops. If you chew on the temp it is liable to pop up!!  Good thing I like macNcheese and veggies and bake spuds. Next appt. 11/2...it will be easy peasy.

  10. Oh my! Thanks for the tribute to ME to start off your post today dear Madi! I love your STARE poem too - we cats know how to be very mysterious with our stares into outer space....you'd think humans would know by now that we see stuff they can't! I'm sure your Mom is glad to have PART ONE of her bridge extravaganza done. But I'm also sure she will be glad when it's FINISHED. My Mom has a permanent bridge but has had to have a lot of things done to it over the years. It's still nice not to have to remove it EVER! Sending her hugs......and you some too!!!

    Love, Sammy

  12. Oh no! I feel all your pain having had dental woes since I was 13 and knocked my front teeth out playing murder at midnight with my cousins. Those shots in the roof of the mouth are awful and probably worse than the procedure. I too have a bridge on my lower jaw. i swear they almost suffocated me making the impression. So Madi give your mom your best side snuggles! She needs moral support!!!!

  13. I am loving this poetry! Guess the dentist didn't have to break out the jackhammer!

  14. Madi that was a fabulous poem and to the Mom with dental work we understand what you mean. We had to do a new crown and although it's not as involved as the Bridge work it seems like the prep work is about the same, and length of time in chair too. Just add Mom's vertigo to the mix and there is always room for mayhem when she goes to the Dentist & she's been in the chair 3 times in less than a month (one was her normally scheduled cleaning).

  15. Great poetry! Hooray!

Ghostwriter says dental work is such a pain! When she had her root canal done last August, the novacaine didn't wear off until late that night! Yow! When all was said and done, and now she has a brand new crown, the bill was a shocker because she went over the amount allowed by her insurance!

  16. So the appointment went fairly well except for the tugging and being in the chair too long. True that the next appt will be a piece of cake... :) Glad you updated. S for stare... kitties aren't much different when it comes to staring, right Madi? Hugs and scritches!

  17. BOL, Mum does that weird stare into space too Madi.
You did so well at the dentist, 3 hours is a long time to sit in one place.
It will all be worth it when you get your super duper new bridge.

  21. Very nice. Hey mom, did you get a free toothbrush?

    ReplyDelete

    1. We received your mom's note about no free toothbrush. Gee that's not good. At my dad's dental office, they always offer him a free toothbrush (no, he has an electric so they gave him a free brush head for his Oral B), free floss and a free mini tube of Colgate. We think that your mom's dentist needs to "up" his game. Oh we all like cats here too.

    2. My dad says that he has two gold crowns. One on the left side and one on the right side, both covering a root canal that had been done previously. Well guess what? Just like your mom, some time later, a small dark spot showed up in both root canals (not at the same time) and so they had to drill through both gold crowns, redo the root canals, give my dad lots of needles (3 or 4), recharge for new root canals and then fill the drill holes with some stuff (not gold). In any case, we think that your mom wins this one. Ouch :( We're glad that Madi will not suffer a decrease in her standard of living.

  30. OMD, Ma KNEW she should read that update! She is getting a stomach ache just thinkin' abouts it! Butts, her 'crown diet' (yes, she has had so many, she has a 'diet' just for when she has crowns and can't chew for two weeks...) is french fries and Wendy's Frosty's! Oh, and McD's regular cheeseburgers are also easy to eat on one side (who knew). Yes, this is a VERY unhealthy 'diet' butts, by the second week, you will not care...BOL!!!
Ma is sendin' you healin' vibes and Frosty's (with some tequila...), cause she can't bear to thinks about what your goin' through!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥
