MESSY Monday MEWS and my 1st Card

On Thanksgiving just mere minutes before our lunch guest were scheduled to arrive mom was washing this VERYYYYYYYYYYY sharp dagger knife....by hand
SHE WILL NO LONGER WASH IT BY HAND....

This is the day after photo
There are no graphic photos but just hearing mom talk about it makes me queasy.  Some how the dagger made a large diagonal
slice between the first joint and the knuckle.

She **** like the worst scene from a horror movie.  She bellowed for dad he came running, got her to the bathroom for first aid.  He made her sit down, proceeded to put 87 band aides on it to stop the ****!!!!!!! She became very clammy, lightheaded and dad said she was white as a ghost...aka in shock....he got her to the bed thinking she was gonna faint.   Fast forward 30 minutes.  Aunty K and Uncle G arrived.  Mom was once again standing...but Aunty K took over.  She gave mom an ice pack to hold on the finger and told her to keep it up right.  Aunty K started setting the table and dishing up the vittles.

Thanksgiving night dad helped mom take off the 87 band aides.  They were very thankful to see no more ****and most of all the wound had closed up nicely...thanks to Dad's good bandaging!!  It doesn't hurt unless she puts pressure on it so she is being very careful.....
BUT FRIENDS  SHE GLAD SHE DID OUR CHRISTMAS
POSTCARDS EARLY...CAUSE MORE THAN LIKELY THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN DELAYED, can type but she cannot bend the finger to write or
cut.

SINCERELY
MADI and hopefully no more messy manor stories!!

  8. Knives are dangerous!!! I once cut myself and didn't think it was that bad. My landlady saw me and said it was and the next thing I know, a doctor is sewing my hand!!

Glad your Mum didn't need any sewing and I hope she feels better soon.

  10. Ouch! OK, once again, I am convinced our human assistants are related. My assistant some how cut her finger on tinfoil, yes, tinfoil. She was covering the dinner left overs and caught it just right. Blood everywhere like a paper cut only with metal. Hope your mom's finger is starting to feel better.

  12. Oh my goodness. Glad no stitches were involved. Ouch with bad words was indeed called for with a cut like that.

  13. OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO.. so glad Dad was there to take over as EMT and to handle the 87 bandaids... so happy it is better and required no stitches...
Friday am, bob took Jake for a walk and a loose dog jumped on Jake and they were fighting and bob was kicking at the dog and they pulled him down and he fell on knees and hands, elbows and ankles, all with road rash, and Jake was crippled since them. he could hardly walk, his hips are ok for walking but not pulling a 200 pound man down and fighting a dog. I had left over pain/muscle relaxers for Jake 2 a day for the past 2 days and this morning they are both ok. Jake can walk and bob is already healing.

  14. Oh, it seems Cat-tastrophe was avoided this time, Madi! Your mom could've sliced her finger right off and then...her treat dispensing hand would have been damaged! Good grief. I am so glad she is okay!

  20. Oh No! Poor mom! our mom can sympathize fur sure. Her finger is quite tender from the surgery. Tell her to keep it clean and dry. Our mom has to wear a glove to shower for a few more days. And yes it makes typing challenging when you cannot bend the finger.

  21. Yow! Hope that finger heals up fast. Ghostwriter, RN, say keep it clean and dry for a few days and it should heal up nicely. If it gets swollen, or starts to drain pus, go to the doctor.

  22. Ouch fur sure! We are sure glad the Mom is okay pretty Madi.

  23. Uh oh! Good thing your Dad put eighty-seven bandages on your Mom's finger because as we all know, eighty-six just doesn't cut it.

See what we did there? MOL! Sending soft sniffs and purrs that her finger heals nice and quick!

  24. First card already....and we thought we were early...oh yeah, ours have to go a long way.

Glad the injury wasn't too bad. SHE bought a CHEAP knife sharpener and didn't think it worked well, until SHE put HER finger in the drawer and cut HERSELF...MOL!
Yes, the email has changed. It should be on your Christmas list, though.

  27. That looks owie! It is lucky your dad was there with 87 band aids.

  28. That's a beautiful knife, but certainly not very well-behaved - something that could and has happened to our Mom. She was slicing through the tops of a celery bunch once and forgot her finger wasn't one of the celery stalks - meag ouchie!!! That was a long time ago. We are glad Nurse Dad was there for the rescue.

  32. OH NOSE! Your poor Mama's finger. Must be a Mom-Knife thing 'cause my Mom did the same thing only not quite as bad. Her knifes weren't supposed to go in the dishwasher either....BUTT Guess What! They are now! Water spots or not! Moms and Knifes don't mix!

    Hugs!

  33. Madi, we're glad there was no photographic evidence...because that woulda made us a little queasy and light headed too. We hope your mom's finger heals quickly.
