Final Fiction Friday: Supper w Friends Part II

Today we are once again thrilled to be pawticipating in YAM-Aunty's

We selected lines 8, 12 and 16 from page 87 in a book as our prompts.
We are using A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks, a North Carolina author.
line 8
At the time it seemed funny,

line 12
After talking, she thought she understood

line 16
She had never known.... someone in Baltimore.

Today's story is continued from the first one we wrote in
November 2017, Supper with Friends

Part I, if you missed it click here

Supper with Friends
Sue, Camille, Leonora and Joan
When last we saw Sue, Camille, Leonora and Joan,
The waiter handed them the menus, a long speculative stare was exchanged.
They could not read a word.
It was written in Emoji symbols.

Supper with friends Part II

MARCH 30, 2018
Their waiter was very puzzled by the inquisitive looks and sudden eruption of the giggles from the four lovely women.
He had been working at the restaurant for several years cleaning tables. He knew all the correct procedures by heart. After many years, his boss finally agreed to a trial period for him on the wait staff.  He did not want to mess up this chance.  Suddenly he became quite embarrassed, what had he done? He looked around the room hoping a co-worker would come to his aid before his boss heard all the commotion in the dining room. He was alone not another coworker in sight.
Sue was the first to regain a semblance of
composure.  At the time it seemed funny; however, she could see
the waiter was clueless about the crazy menu. She placed her menu on the
table.  She asked the waiter if this was his first night.  Nervous and befuddled he said yes.   After talking, she thought she understood.
While trying to keep a straight face, Sue handed him her menu.
She said, "if you can tell me what this item is
on the first line of the entrees 😆😂😌😠👇👌, it might be something I would enjoy."  The waiter looked at the menu, he looked at Sue. He heard a noise from the kitchen.  As the wait staff and his boss came out of the kitchen,
they were laughing so hard they could hardly stand up. It dawned on him that he had just been initiated on his first night as a waiter.  According to all his coworkers and boss he had handled the situation with great pose.    The
new job was his to keep.  Real menus were delivered to the table. The waiter  took their orders with confidence.
Sue had never known this to happen here in her town.  She told her friends it had happened to someone in Baltimore many years ago.
The girls were delighted to receive a free dessert for being such good sports.
Before leaving the restaurant they gave their waiter a standing ovation.
It was unanimous a good time was had by all and they would be returning to this lovely cafe off the beaten path.

Thoroughly Poetic Pictorial Thursday

Today we join Two  SPOILED CAT
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

This very gorgeous picture is our prompt for today!!

Technicolor
by Madi and Mom

Some see things in black and white
Some see things in shades of gray.
We see shades of Technicolor .
Each morning that dawns is full of
endless Technicolor to brighten you day.
A look into your loved one's eyes
will be the first Technicolor of the day,
Shades of greens, blues, browns all Technicolor.
Skies of blue and puffy clouds.
Emerald green grass with droplets of dew,
The beautiful orange sun shining thru
Technicolor  trees swaying gently in the breeze.
Beds of flowers on which to gaze.
When rainy skies of gray invade your day,
remember each drop helps to keep your
world full of
Technicolor
