Cats and Dogs....dedicated to all my furends

Mom and I want to dedicate today's post to all our 'furends' near and far and their devoted servants. We thank you all for visiting our blog,
encouraging our efforts and being our friend. We
think these quotes from "Chicken Soup for the Soul: Loving our Cats" says what we feel!!!
"There are fewer things more heartwarming than to be welcomed by a cat." Tay Hohoff

"There is no faith which has never yet been broken, except that of a TRULY faithful DOG"
Konrad Lorenz
Note: We had a fantastice b-day party everyone loved the "Gifts" I bought for them
From Mom: LOL is all I have to say

Madi: There is something big brewing here

I've been up here all afternoon....and no I'm not
happy about it. Mom has been off today and the
dust has been flying and the sucking machine
has been out running all over the place. Mom
is cooking up a storm.

There is a birthday party Saturday night here
at our house for my Sis and my Mom's Daddy.
I heard that presents are required.
I've been stuck up on the perch all day. No
time to shop so I guess I'll have to 'regift'
some of my toys....

I think I'll give my Sis a stuffed animal maybe the
little gray and white cat...it will remind her of me.
My Mom's Daddy aka my papa likes to go hit white
balls with a stick.I see a white ball right there in
the corner. I bet he'll like that just fine and
won't mind it being old since he'll probably
loose it anyway.

Mission accomplished now to get Mom to wrap
them for me. I heard the word Pork maybe this
time I'll get some. There will be cake too,
lots of people in my house.I better go get
some rest 'cause for sure I'll have to be cute.
It is so hard being a Diva,

Madi....(Mom is busy so I had
to do this post all alone).

Red Wolf Ramble

The Raleigh Red Wolf Ramble exhibit began September 2001. The form for each wolf was made of fiberglass. NC artists enhanced them with paint and three dimensional add ons. Once the whimsical wolves were completed, The City Council approved the placement of 100 red wolves sculptures all around Raleigh for viewing. We had maps of where each was located. What fun it was to wonder about looking for them. On April 5, 2002 they were auctioned. They are now scattered all over the State. The red wolf was selected becasue it is an endangered species special to NC. At the time the newspaper coverage of the auction stated, 'of the 125 wolves in the wild, about 100 are in North Carolina'. This picture is of the handsome mosaic wolf purchased by the owners of Logan's Trading Company during the auction. I give him a gentle pet any time I visit Logan's to have lunch at Seaboard Cafe.

Madi shows you where the magic happens

Hey, look right down there where I'm pointing is
where I sit when I'm dictating my blog thoughts
to Mom.

This is where Mom sits hour after hour frantically
typing her fingers to the bones to be sure she gets
it all right. I'm one tough editor

Dachshund Chronicles: Pay attention

Lily pad sculpture, Fred Flecther Park

As mentioned in my first Dachshund Chronicle, Toto had 9 lives. These stories are in no particular order. Toto had been living with us about 4 months when this event happened.
It was a Sunday evening (I know this because the Vet's office was closed). I was busy getting supper on the table. Our daughter was in her booster seat at the table. She kept saying Mommy look at Toto. My reply was just a minute. Finally she said, Toto is asleep. I looked under the table to find him indeed asleep but he didn't look normal. I asked what he was doing she said he chewing on something. I crawled under the table to find that he had been chewing on an electrical cord that had been tied up to prevent such an accident. My husband immediately took him out of the kitchen to the mud room. All the while he was rubbing his chest gently. I was frantically trying to look up the Emergency Vet Clinic number. By the time, I had the Vet on the phone and was telling them what happened, my husband was walking back in the kitchen with a completely revived Toto. I told the Vet that he was awake and eating. The Vet told us to watch him for the rest of the day. He told me that by massaging Toto's chest my husband had saved Toto's life. The only noticeable effect from chewing on the electrical cord, was two of his teeth never came that area of his mouth.
