Today's picture was one of those that surprises you when you load it on the 'puter.  Mom just cackled when she saw this one.

She thinks it looks like I'm wearing a crown...which is

SURPRISES IN THE MAIL

Last week we won a random drawing hosted by Jack and TG  from Daily Dose of Jack.  They were to celebrating the first year anniversary of Jack's book, 
Jack, A book about a dog who doesn't die at the end.

Mom  also ordered a very special handmade 'project bag' for her crochet projects, from Ms. Cindy and Nina, from  
Bird Brains and Dog Tales

LO AND BEHOLD both packages arrived yesterday.

Grab your fav beverage and a power  bar. This will be a long post. 

I was napping in my upstairs sun puddle when I was rudely when I heard boxes being torn and paper rattling.

Of course I had to investigate

Let me just say right now my peeps are addicted to the PBS Series

DOWNTON ABBEY.  To say Mom was happy when she found out she won the Downton Abbey book from Jack...would be an understatement.  I just hope  she takes a break from reading it at my din-din time.

I wanted to find out what all the hype is about so I examined the book from front

 to back

 I was caught with my head in the book reading a chapter

 until I heard more commotion so I turned my attention back to 

Mom.

She was admiring the project bag and the cute gray kitty with the pink nose holding a crochet hook

 The inside of the bag is lined with kitties playing with yarn 

 OH MY STARS Ms. Cindy did you know there was a mouse in the

package?

 Don't worry I took charge by popping him with my left hook.

 When he feel to the floor, I realized he was full of nip.

Mom tried to pick him up until she saw my

'don't even think about touching it, back away from the cat look"

I put the bitey face on him so he could not get away

 then I gave him my a few bunny kicks with my powerful

back feet until he hollered "uncle"!!

 I paused for a moment to give mom my best nip induced smile for the flashy beast.

When all of a sudden he tried to escape again.

I had to use my head to wrestle him into submission.  
I'm happy to report  he is now behaving like a mouse in a cat house should behave....submissive!!

Mom and I thank Jack and TG and Ms. Cindy and Nina

for making our Thursday afternoon fun and exciting

Tuesday Tale: The zoo in my yard

Everyone knows, next to my furry self, Mom loves

birds of all flavors...and I'm ok with that since they don't live in my house.  HOWEVER,

it appears there is a new kind of bird in our 'hood,

Mom said he is A Turkey (A.T.).

The peeps have lived in this house for 28 years. 

They pretty much thought they had figured out how to keep the 

likes of A.T. off the bird feeders. A.T. relatives 

have been purrfectly happy to graze below the feeders

Note the darling little rabbit on the right of the picture.  Even he is 

astounded at A.T.

 This is where the hummingbird feeder hangs from April through 
October.  This year she decided to put a seed feeder here through the winter. She was delighted to see it was being emptied nearly
every other day.  Now she knows why.  A.T. has figured
out he can jump from the edge of the bird bath.  He lands on the cone baffled and somehow before he falls he lands in the
feeder.  
We think he is new to the 'hood and must have a PhD in Physics.

 Darling Mr. Rabbit was happy to see A.T. move in to the 'hood.
Mr. Rabbit sits right here waiting for A.T. to scatter 
seed on the ground.

So I guess it is a win-win for all.  The birds have extra food, A.T. is getting food and so is Mr. Rabbit. Mom says the A.T. best find another fast food dive-in (yes dive 'cause he dives for it). The feeder will be moved soon in preparation for her Hummer's return.

HATS FOR HOPE for JUDIBUG

TODAY MOM AND I ARE JOINING BLOGVILLE WITH THIS 

SPECAIL MESSAGE FOR JUDIBUG.  SHE HAS BEEN FEELING VERY POORLY FOR MANY MONTHS.

SHE HAS ENDURED MANY GRUELING TESTS INCLUDING A BIOPSY ON HER PANCREAS.

IT IS OUR HOPE THESE POSTS WILL LET HER KNOW JUST HOW MUCH EVERYONE IN BLOGVILLE IS THINKING AND PRAYING FOR HER

Mama Judi has the most amazing Habadashery in Blogville!!

She has the best eye for just what hat will suit each and every

kitteh and puppy.  As you can see from the pictures below,

I'm a happy as a clam when I'm in a Mama Judi original.

I've used this hat as an Easter Bonnet and most recently

I wore it for Mardi Gras

Mom never thought she'd see a Diva in a Chef's hat but

OMC the pink Diva looks cat-a-tastic with my gray furs.

Mom's favorite color is red so you know this is her favorite 

hat by Mama Judi.  Also note the itty bitty lady bug

on the hat.  Mama Judi has been called Lady Bug since she was 

a wee girl

Mom has no clue how to hat me like Mama Judi.

Needless to say, Mom was thrilled with I graciously agreed to 

let her snap this picture of me with a hat on my 

tush........

And then I watched with amusement as Mom

took this picture of herself wearing the same hat.

Mama J Mom said she didn't have a very good

selection of hats here but she hopes you like it.
