TO MAMA JUDI BUG

Yesterday morning Mom and I received word that our dear
friend Ms. Judi, Mom the Cool Cats at SASS,  passed away
after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Ms. Judi was always there to offer a helping hand, encouragement and lots of love  to all whether she knew you or not.  Anyone who knew Ms. Judi will remember how she started offering to 'hat' our furbabes.  She was quite talented at
putting just the right hat on each pet.  Her signature was a
lady bug.

Today we pay tribute to Ms. Judi by showing you some of my hats
by
JUDI

This was my first hat and my official Easter Bonnet
in 2009.  Most folks who saw this purrfectly placed hat
actually thought I was wearing it.  MOL
In 2010 there was a fun event going on in blogville,
Ms. Judi and Ms. Ann @ Zoolatry asked us to describe
ourselves with one word and they they would hat us accordingly.
Mom told Ms. Judi after a week of living w/ me she wished she had named me DIVA.  Ms. Judi thought that was a hoot!!
She loved having fun and laughing
We just loved this girly pink cap she gave me

Mom can create captions/stories to go with my pictures all day long but SHE CANNOT make buttons and SHE CANNOT make headers.
Lo and behold Ms. Judi surprised in the fall of 2010 with this great
Christmas button.  Do you see the little lady bug in the cap?
Mom uses it every year on my blog...

Last BUT not least...this is our favorite
Ms. Judi surprised us again with this wonderful
Gotcha Day Button on the anniversary of my 9th Gotcha Day.
Every time Ms. Judi left a comment on my blog she always, always, always ended with

"We love you Mads"

Every time Mom and I saw that ending we smiled.  Mom uses this
button on each year on my Gotcha Day, May 11, 2002.

MAMA JUDI BUG
MADS AND MOM  WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.  EACH TIME WE USE YOUR ART WORK YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED WITH LOVE.
REST IN PEACE.

Did you know....

They (whomever they are) say your eyes are the mirrors to your soul?  If this is the case, then I'm in big trouble.

Below my blank eyes say I have a no soul and possibly no brain.
The double reflection looks down right evil...

Mom was sitting on the love seat at about 8pm when she took these pictures.
There was no light on in the kitchen.
I decided it was time to put some distances between
me and those evil eyes. Finally that blank stare
now has a touch of blue and it isn't so scary
My assistant is in need of some serious lessons on lighting and
pictures especially when I'm the subject.
After all I'm now Mayor and I have to look intelligent.
Hugs

WHERE, WHY and WAY

WHERE

IS MADI DAD SAID TO MOM WHEN THEY RETURNED FROM ERRANDS.
I SAID TO MYSELF, SELF, IF YOU STAY AS QUIET AS A MOUSE AND DO NOT MOVE A MUSCLE
THEY WILL NEVER NOTICE THE LUMP IN THE BED

But alas that Nosey Rosey aka Mom find me lickety split
and she had the flashy beast with her.

 WHY
do you get under the bedspread on sunny, 68 degree day
but NEVER on a cold, cloudy day?
Well let's just say I had a long list of reasons
like to escape you and the flashy beast
but the main reason was
BECAUSE I am Madi  and I do things my
WAY!!

MADI AND MOM.....REALLY

OH DEAR ME SOMEONE TAKE THE FLASHY BEAST FROM MOM. I WAS MINDING MY BEESWAX ON MY CAT TREE
WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MOM DECIDED WE NEEDED
A NEW PORTRAIT TOGETHER. DAD WAS  OFF PLAYING
TRAINS SO SHE DID A POINT AND SHOOT
THE WOMAN HAS LOST WHAT LITTLE GRAY MATTER
SHE HAD.
I TRIED TO IGNORE HER BUT SHE
WHISPERS SWEET NOTHINGS IN MY EARS
AND MADE KISSY SOUNDS

SO I DECIDED TO HUMOR THE OLD GIRL

I AM MADI, AND THAT IS HOW I ROLL
AFTER ALL SHE IS KIND OF HANDY TO HAVE AROUND
AND SHE MAKES PURRTY GOOD CORNBREAD.

CHERRIO(s)....the rest of the story

CHERRIO Mom said as she rudely interrupted my
beauty sleep. She told me she had a story to share
with everyone and she could use demanded my help.
She said the story was about a Professor B (his last name started with a B and Mom always called him Prof. B). I've heard lots about
Prof. B over the years but never met him.
I do know he is a huge animal lover.
as you can see I wasn't the least bit impressed
So I perked up to give her a listen.  Prof. B is now a retired Chemistry professor.  Mom worked for him a long time ago. Prof. B was one of the most sought after Organic Chem Professors at NCSU.  Folks came from other colleges just to take his class. He had a gift of bringing every day life into the class room and he even managed to give a few history lessons.

Just when Prof. B was starting college in the early 1940's, WWII began.  After his military service, he returned to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)  to complete his education.   He was an amazing story teller too. Mom loved listening to all his stories.

He was determined to complete his education. He said it was very hard to get every day supplies for his classes like pens, pencils, and paper.
Prof B said he saved cereal boxes. He would cut the cereal boxes just like this Cherrios box so he could use the inside of the boxes to take his class notes.
I took a stroll across the box trying to imagine how in the world
he managed to finish college and get his PhD under those circumstances.  Mom eats cereal every morning and every morning
when she opens the box she is reminded of Prof. B and his determination. To this day (even though we recycle the boxes) mom feels guilty not reusing them somehow. Prof. B made a lasting impression on Mom.  He is retired now and every so often
Mom sees him at our local Rite Aid.  Mom calls him a one of a kind
man and feels very honored to know him.

Next time you open a cereal box we hope you remember this story and that it is not just a BOX..it is a PAPER BOX.
Thanks for listening.
I don't know why it took so long for Mom to share this story.
