Caturday Art with Kat and his Mom

Dearest Aunty HiC,

I’m so happy the bloggie Furiends understand my side of the table setting situation on
Monday, June 17,

I appreciate their support.

Mom says it’s so hot outside she needs an indoor activity. She loved coloring with her kiddos at school, and when she retired, one of her sweeties (Connor) gave her a coloring book and a box of 64 crayons. Guess what? When Mom was at hospital during kidney stone attack, Connor was one of the CAT-scan techs.  His hug was the best medicine she received (other than the fentanyl)! 😹
Apparently, we’re going to color this afternoon. Teeheehee!
Hope you’re staying cool in NC. 😻
❤️ Kat Your Feline Nephew

Dearest Nephew Kat that box of Crayola crayons AND YOU make a much, much, much better centerpiece for your table.

OMCs Connor sounds like he was a really smart young man..who knew just the purrfect gift for your sweet Mom. I love the smell of crayons!!  I love to color too!! Be sure to snoopervise Mom so she doesn't color outside the lines.  I think that green crayon on the first row RIGHT by your eyes matches them too.

Be sure to send me a photo of the flower when it is finished.

Lovingly your Aunty HiC

Nature Friday and FFF reminder

Sunday Morning, May 19, just after the sun rose over all the tall trees I happened to look
to see Mr. Cardinal's brilliant red head all aglow
Before long his brilliant red will fade.
Of course the original also caught my eye due to the reflections of the dining room
light in the windows.

Late afternoon sun peeping through the trees
Photo taken with my iPad.  I did not see the kaleidoscope of colors when I took the
photo.  Professional snappers is this tree acting as a filter?

Most of May was dry as a bone and my garden boy aka Dad of Madi had a horrible sinus infection..
Thankfully, after 2 bottles of antibiotics,  he is well and was able to put some new plants in this pot.
We love the iridescent leaves of the Persian Shield (tall purple).  White Celosia loves the sun.

REMINDER Next Friday is FINAL FICTION FRIDAY, June 28, 2019

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.
Here is our photo challenge

Way up high where the eagles fly
lives the family Blye.
They are a hearty lot
with buns of steel.
They fly up those stairs
in record speed
But never in heels.

Saucy Singer: exciting news

Saucy Singer has a new hangout more light.  The ceiling light is behind me, lamp to the right and extra light from the sky light.  The table to the left gives me more flat surface and it expands and has drawers.  I bought all 3 tables shown here  way back in time, (when Dinosaurs roamed the earth), at Piece Goods.  PG  was in vogue and there was no JoAnn’s
Quilt in progressing hanging on chair
I am so glad I kept all three tables!!

I'm calling the new project
My Way Quilting
Seasoned Quilters do I hear gasping at my unconventional method?
Quilting is about creativity RIGHT?
You know my Mind's Eye is always thinking/getting me into trouble.

Long story short kinda.   The middle of the quilt about, where you see the navy squares,  was a small kit containing fabric that I had to cut and sew.  I bought it when I was clueless about quilting.  After I got it together, it was so small. I had nothing to do with it.  So after much thought,I decided to buy pre cut 5" squares in coordinating colors. I found two packs at JoAnn's with 30 and 40 sqs. Below photo shows the beginning of getting it
organized.  It is going together nicely but will be big
and I knew I needed more space.

Happy Tuesday Tiger Tale

Hosted by Comedy Plus

My mom was from a large family of seven, six girls and one lone boy.
My favorite Aunt Ruth, and my Mom, Lou, and were the 6th and 7 children born
when their Mother, my Annie Ma was  41 and 43 years old.
The first three girls were in their 20's and the fourth and fifth were 6 and 8 years old
when Ruth (1926) and Lou(1928) were born.
I didn't know the oldest Aunts very well but I heard enough stories about them to know
I come from a long line of silly story tellers.
Aunt Ruth and her family lived about 30 miles from us.  We saw them often.
Aunt Ruth gave me my very first nickname, Cil, much to my mom's dismay.
I was (and probably still am) gullible.  I believed anything I was told.
Once when I was spending the night at her house, I remember asking her about
some very pretty flowers in her yard.  I think the proper name is Day Lily
but she called the orange ones Tiger Lilies.  Aunt Ruth could deliver a pile of malarkey with a straight face.    She said, well Cil,  there is a story behind those very pretty orange flowers.
She paused a bit, causing great anticipation on my part.
According to Gospel of Ruth, anywhere you saw an orange Tiger Lily,
that is the exact spot an Out House use to be located.
I was fascinated by the story.  I found great joy and amusement any time I saw
an Orange Tiger Lily.  To this day, I still get a great big smile on my face when I spy one
It brings back fond memories of Aunt Ruth and all the fun I had at her house
with my cousin Terry, who was 5 years older.

Apparently there were at least six outhouses in my neighborhood....just on one street.

Email Update on the Wren Family

I was just getting ready to send you a meow! I’m happy to tell all the bloggie Furiends that the babies flew ‘da coop!  I can hear them happily chirping away near the wood shed. It doesn’t seem so annoying anymore. ❤️
As you know, Aunty Kelly came for dinner last night. I’m not a big fan of company, so when I saw Mom setting the table, my cute nose got out of joint in no time!
As soon as Mom left the dining room, I jumped on the table and started sharing my feelings! 😹
Mom says I’m lucky I didn’t have time to do more rearranging.

Table setting 101 by my Nephew Kat

Dad took me to garage so Mom could chill, ha!

Love you!
❤️ Kat Your Feline Nephew

Dearest Nephew...
It has been many years since your sweet Mom was owned by Cosmo Cat.
I think she forgot that any and all changes in a feline's abode must be submitted in tripliKate 2 weeks before said changes happen. Geeez Louise what what she thinking messin' with YOUR table.  It already had a most handsome center piece...YOU!!

Good thing Dad was there.
I'm sure by now you and Mom have kissed and made up!!
Lovingly your Aunty HiC
