During my absence on July 29 and 30 we spent one night in 

New Bern, NC

The city is filled with bear statures and one elephant in all kinds attire

Bears in New Bern

New Bern, North Carolina's second oldest town, was founded in 1710 by a Swiss nobleman who named it after his native city of Berne, Switzerland. Bern means “bear” and the “Bern Bear” symbol is seen on the flag. Commemorative cast-iron bear heads decorate the historic City Hall and Central Fire Station.

Mom and I went out to check the tomatoes this morning. 

 The tomatoes are called Carolina Gold, and turn orange when ripe. Not sure if they’re from North or South Carolina, ha! 

Looks like Mom will have a ‘mater sandwich for lunch! 🍅 Wish you were here to share.

Mom likes lots of Bama mayo, pepper, on white bread... but she had to settle on multigrain bread today...she said it was delicious!

Bama mayo...I'm not familiar with that brand Kat; however, if Mom likes it, that tells me it is yummy 'cause she has excellent taste in all walks of life.

Summer Job

He pounded the pavement,

he gave it his all. 

Looking for a job was a bore.

From door to door he went

in hopes of a summer job to score.

At every door, all he found was

sympathetic smiles, shaking heads and more.

He put on his best smile as he rang the bell

at door four hundred and four.

There was a thunderous roar from behind the door.

When it opened, he saw at least 87 wagging tails,

and furry faces galore.

Alas he found his calling, it would be

fun and for sure not a bore.

He was gonna be a dog walker for ever more!!

Dearest Aunty HiC

Something disturbing happened today when I was outside with Mom. I saw a lizard, I jumped on it, (before Mom could stop me), and it’s TAIL FELL OFF!!! 🙀

I was freaking out until Mom told me  lizards can voluntarily “drop” their tails in order to escape predators. And guess what!?! A lizard can regenerate a functional tail in more than 60 days. Pretty cool, huh? 

I wonder if 🦎 are limited to 9 tails, like us felines with 9 lives. 😹😹😹

This cartoon brought back sweet memories of my Diva Box Queen Madi

Some flashbacks of Madi and a few boxes!!

I became addicted to boxes at 2 months old

when I came to live with the peeps.

Lo and be hold I discovered they had a cold box full

of treats and delicious meats .

From that day I made it my mission to inspect each

box in the house.

Back off Mom founders keepers!!

Madi did not like errors on her blog...I meant finder's not founders
