Nature Friday

You might recall we have lunch every Saturday at Seaboard Cafe which is housed in
Logan's Trading/Garden center which also sits beside the CSX train tracks.
We go for the food...EVERYTHING at Seaboard is delish.
Trains are always entertaining.  Freight train pulls out each day at 11:30 ish.

Now for Final Friday Fiction

As we meandered around all the pretty flowers, Dad of Angel Madi said...
is that a gorilla up there?  WHAT/Where I replied?  Well lo and behold it did look like a gorilla
so we went from meandering to cautiously walking closer while being stalked by
none other than Big Foot Gorilla combo!!!
What the heck is a gorilla doing at a garden center?
Granted they have all kinds of pots, bird baths, and yard art

When the lady working in this area saw me taking photos of it,
she said at least you aren't draping yourself all over it for a selfie.  That seems to be the
thing.  During Christmas she said some one had placed it near the Christmas trees.
Evidently even knowing it was there, she was frightened by it lurking in the trees as dusk fell.
She told us there was another one somewhere on the lot same scary expression just smaller.
I asked if it had been named...nope not yet so I'm calling it Gary the Big Footed Gorilla
and FRIENDS if you want Gary for your very own....you can buy
him for $3,500.00 US dollars.  FYI: it is made out of fiberglass so it is mobile should you want to display Gary in different parts of your garden.

Wednesday, January 29, I challenged you to find a clue that would appear today's story.
Did you find it?
Can you see it now

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #5

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is today's inspiration

Way back in the fifties, style choices were iffy.
No matter the weather,
the gals had to wear dresses.
Only when the weather was messy,
could we wear slacks under our dresses.
The slacks had to come off before our classes.
If you were nimble,
jumpin' double rope was no problem.
If you lost concentration, it would lead to trouble.
You were sent to the nurse for a scrub and some
LOVE.

Awww and Sparks Monday and POTP

On Tuesday, January 12, post I showed you two adorable abstract

kitty blocks that I would be using to complete a pieced block sampler of all the
blocks have learned.  Last week I put all the blocks together, then quilted the throw.
Here are the front and back
I was tickled to find this Grand Lodge fabric for the back

This quilt was inspired by my nephew Kat who is now an official
RVing Cat...I never in my wildest dreams had a clue how
KAT would do as an RV'er but he
EXCELLED!!!

YOU MAY click on each photo to enlarge

I don't have a 'professional' quilting machine aka Long arm machine; however, Saucy my Singer Patchwork machine  does  have over many decorative stitches I can use
This was my very first attempt at quilting a decorative stitch.  I used #63.
All my other projects were quilted with a straight stitch.  Main reason is my fear of messing up a project. I made a sample to practice one.
All in all, it went well and gave me courage to try again.

.

Now some close ups of a few of the squares and quilting.

Next two are my two of my favorite blocks
each of my kitties are quilted like the one below.  I used gold thread
and a wavy stitch.

I am crazy about novelty buttons...of course I have several styles of cat buttons!!

All my life, I have heard fish is food for the brain...
Today, I share some very brainy words of wisdom from a goldfish

I always keep my eyes open so that I can keep you all entertained.

Momster to Lightning, Misty and Timber is having surgery today to
repair a badly broken right arm.  She is right handed and  cannot blog so if you would like to
leave some healing words you may do so at the POTP
