Saturday Symmetry

Many streets in Raleigh are named after one of the 100 counties in N.C.

Say Perquimans 3 times fast.  I have a mental block with 

Pistachio which I rarely have to say.  I'm thankful I don't live on Perquimans Dr.

Transylvania and Rutherford Cos. are in the NC Mountains.

Mama always said idle hands are the devil's workshop.

Just a wee post to show you all that my hands have not been idle. The pattern is called square in square.  It is simple.

First collage top left shows the Feline Friday.

The back of the quilt is all felines...

The remainder of the collages show up close on each sq. The sq. with the cross stitch heart 'I love U MU' was a Mother's Day gift my daughter made when she was a teenager. I took it out of the frame to incorporate into quilt.   

Pandas were a package of handkerchiefs that were given to me by a Physics PhD student. I have had them since the late 1990's.

I was so happy to be able to incorporate them into this Memory quilt.

A dear friend of mine heard about my love of buttons. She found a package of assorted buttons on eBay sent them to me.

My quilting is decorative stitches built into my machine. 

The below square was a patch of free hand embroidery on a table cloth that Margie, my mother-in-law made. Unfortunately the cloth has some stains on it I had to cut around stains so it is a wee bit crooked.

Flashback Madi was all about posing.

February 26, 2010 was Levi Strauss Day, according to a Whimsical calendar.

I, Madi,  was MIA on yesterday's post because I was out shopping for Levis to model today. I could not find any Levi's with four leg holes so I'm content to just sit on Mom's Levi's in honor of the day.

UPDATE: 

Today I'm thankful to report I had my 2nd COVID vaccine on Monday, Feb 22.

My reaction was a very, very sore injection site much more so than the 1st vaccine. I took a Tylenol before I went to bed on Monday.  Soreness much better but I had some fatigue on Tuesday.  

UPDATE TO MY UPDATE: Interesting event after my 2nd vaccine:  I first noticed my fatigue and sluggish feeling about supper time Monday. 

As of yesterday afternoon, I was back to my feisty self! All of a sudden,  about 3ish yesterday, was no longer fatigued and I could raise my arm above my head!
Now the weird thing, just before that magical hour I had a strong desire for  a Kosher dill pickle.  I ate two spears.   I like them lots but rarely eat them out of the jar.  What was that about?  LOL  So as my Friend Pix said 2 kosher pickles a day keep the COVID reactions away!!!

Last week we had 1 morning out of 7 without monsoons

(FYI: we had a total of 5" of rain last week) 
We took advantage the blustery morning to take a walk at the 
NC Museum of Art trail.  It made us very happy and oh did we see lots of happy wagging dog tails.  The photo at the top of the collage was taken

on Saturday February 20, the first full day of sun in 7 days.

This huskie is happy to be walking with his person and his shadow.

 We were surprised to read the galleries were open..but for sure

happy that folks can finally have some diversity in their daily routines.
