Spooky Spider Saturday

The web was huge anchored from a big red maple to my car door. When felt it, I just knew I had a spider in my hair.  I was relieved to see  this (not so) ittsy bittsy spider crawling in his web. I might have squealed like a girl and almost considered taking another shower.

The name of the font in the text bubble is appropriately named
 NIGHTMARE...

I think it is an Hentz Orb Spider click here.  I didn't see it up close...

No, I love spiders!!! I had loads of Garden Orbs and St Andrews spiders in my OZ garden and I always tried to keep the webs intact (unless they blocked the entry), because they kept the mozzie population under control. I was not so happy about the White-tail that bit my finger, of course, and had to beware the Redbacks and Funnelwebs... but they all serve their purpose. YAM xx

  5. Ida screamed like a little school girl and freaked out if that web had gotten on me or in my hair! I do think they are very pretty spiders.

  7. Walking into a spider web is never fun. That is a cool looking spider and looks like one we have in our perennial garden.

  8. We have a couple of resident orb spiders on our front porch. They do make beautiful webs but I'm afraid my broom ruins a lot of them!

  9. We haven't seen any of those big garden spiders around our yard in ages, and we miss them. We think either the birdies are eating them, or our neighbors use too much pesticides on their lawns.

  10. I've got some spider pictures I need to share. The 2 in my garden were enormous.
