Wordless Wednesday Northern Lights in NC

Thanks to our

Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

I thank Kit, mom of my Furry Nephews for forwarding this information to me.

The aurora borealis or Northern Lights captured last night March 23, early morning March 24, 2023.  Blue Ridge Parkway outside of Asheville, North Carolina.  I had no idea Aurora Borealis were ever visible this far South.

According to our local weather geek, it was caused by a an unpredicted geomagnetic storm . Aurora was seen all over N. America and  as far south as North Carolina and Virginia Mountains.!!!

  2. Beautiful! It has been as far south as Devon twice this month. I didn't see it, but have seen them in Arctic Norway.

  4. Instant beauty and ever-changing. Of course clouds obscured our chance, but I doubt they were visible here.

  7. That is so beautiful. We might have been able to see it here too but it was too cloudy that night.

I read a headline the aurora might be visible farther South.
As I type here in Vermont, I realize I've been looking out the wrong window! lol
I hope they show up tonight.

  14. The northern lights are beautiful. We got to see them when we were way up in Canada, way up, many years ago.

  18. We always try to see the northern lights, and the recent line-up of planets in the sky. But we seem to almost always have cloudy skies. But we keep trying!
