we now park in this back lot.  

Last time we parked there a car was so close to the driver's door

(about 5").  My husband could not get in the car.  I crawled from the passenger seat across to the drivers side.

On Saturday May 19, 2023 my good friend,  MadSnapper aka Beau's Mom had this photo of a Black Racer Snake slithering in their back yard: 

He was about 3 feet long and no, I don't bother critters. He is a black racer, and we have had them here for 34 years. The largest was about 5 feet long.

Here is my story!!!

It reminded me of my one and only close encounter with a Black Racer.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh S(N)AKES alive that is 100000% a snake.

I really don't like any slithering critter bigger than an worm.  WHY well when I was about 6 y.o. my parents and I went to our friend's lake cabin with them.  The men fished, 

My friend and I were playing on the shore skipping rocks and just having a ball.  All of a sudden a black racer decided he wanted to race us.  Of course, being 6 year old girls we squealed so loud we broke the supersonic sound barrier.  We ran up the hill as fast a greased lightning.  He raced after us.  I expect he won the race but we didn't stay around to congratulate him.  We were in the house with our Moms and and Dads were giggling.

1. I would search a long time for a good cup of coffee.***

2. The last time I attended school was March 31, 2011 when I retired from N. C. State University.

3. I can’t relax until I have my shower it is my favorite time of day.

4. I knew I needed a hair cut when the hair around my ears looked like I was rocking a Poodle do!!

*** In 2005 we vacationed in Alaska.  Four days on land seven cruising down the Inside passage.  The trip was wonderful but the coffee on the ship was not hot nor good.  First port we stopped in was Skagway.  I was all kinds of happy when I saw a Starbucks!!

 I thank  Raz for being Madi's devoted virtual beau.  They attended so many Blogville functions together. 

The donkey ride on Smoke was such fun.

Below is a collage of some of the Virtual Dates they had.

They took a train ride, kicked up their paws at a Blog 50's dance,

dressed to the 9's for a fancy Queen of Hearts dance.

A quick trip around the moon, to the drive in in a fancy Sports car and dined around the world.

A few weeks ago I had this photo up for Symmetry Saturday.  Many expressed  hopes that I would give an update.  This day they were putting finishing touches on an irrigation system.

Today, on  HAPPY Tuesday,  here is an update. I took this photo on my EMW on Sunday.  It was overcast, chilly and breezy.  As I approached the house, I noticed they now have sod laid.

I love the front porch rails and that YELLOW door.

I also noticed they are now landscaping the back.  I didn't get a photo back there

didn't want them to think  was stalking their home.

Now we need to try to remember to go by after dark to see the walkway lights.

I'll be MIA for several hours today

Serene Sunday with Aimee

My friend Joni and her AireDale, Aimee, who live in Edmonton, Canada, don't have a blog. However, they are very devoted readers of blogs and we email often.  She shared these photos.

Last night while I took Aimee around the block this appeared. The sky had been very odd and there was a great deal of thunder rolling but not really any rain on us. We turned for home and a beautiful double rainbow appeared, then reversed; the larger on top of the smaller.

Thank you Joni and Aimee for sharing your rainbow.  I don't remember the last rainbow I saw in person...and OMDs to see it reverse positions must be extremely rare.
