Happy Tuesday Take 2 and reminder FFF

For you early birds yesterday, I send apologies for 2 posts in one day.

I had to copy the Tuesday post into a new one.  I tried to change the date to post tomorrow so I would not lose comments but blogger would not let me.

If your world was rumbling yesterday, it was probably Angel Madi grumbling.  She would have issued lots and lots of demerits for that blunder.

Thank you to our

On November 23, 2024 at 5:12  pm we had the most incredible sunset show.

This is how it started...the sunset was even in the Eastern skies  snapped from our drive way facing EAST.  The entire neighborhood had a pink hue. Even reflecting in our car windows.

Still facing EAST

Our house faces North as I continued snapping this is now the snap approximately

Northwesterly

This snap is 100% West

This breathtaking sunset put on a show for about 12 minutes...til the clouds moved in.

Reminder Friday November 29th join YAM for FFF
It is fun.

Awww Monday with my nephews

We thank our Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

Dearest Auntie HiC

As you know, I, Rocky, had to go to the vet recently! πŸ™€

I have been itching, scratching & chewing on myself to the point where I’ve created hotspots. 😿
Dr. Renee gave me a steroid (Depo-Medrol) shot & said I’ll be feeling much better real soon.
Mom tried to get a picture of the hotspots but I was not cooperative! 😹

I’ve been giving Mom the “stink eye” all afternoon! 😼

Kat could smell the vet on me when I got home, and has been providing comfort❣️

I didn’t tell Kat I heard Dad make an appointment for him to have his annual exam, vaccines, & glucose check. No need to make him worry until necessary, & I’ll be there for him after his appointment. 😻
Lovingly your nephew,
❤️ Rocky

********************
ROCKY this crazy up and down weather and changes in heat and ac inside.  It can give us the itches too.
THANK GOODNESS DR Renee was there and all your adoring  vet techs.
I bet you will feel  better very soon.
I agree no need worrying Kat.
I love how caring he is in spite of vettie odors.  I know you will give him the same loving attention when he comes home.
Loving and healing hugs
Your Auntie HiC πŸ₯°πŸ«ΆπŸ»‼️

Nature from NC #3 and Feline and Fill ins Friday

Nature Friday host LLB Gang   Click here Hostess Miss Mimi

Thank you for hosting!

Nature facts from NC and a few photos.
Recently Auntie's NCRGEA (North Carolina Retired Government Employee's Association)
monthly magazine arrived. It always has some fun puzzles etc in it.  This month it was
A Fall 2024 Word Search
"All Things North Carolina"
They wrote a sentence with facts about NC things then you had to find it.

I'll be sharing them this month

Today's Nature from NC

NC's official State Frog
In 2013, NC designated the Pine Barrens Tree Frog a bright green but seldom seen species.  It mainly lies in the pine forests of Coastal Plains and the Sandhills and is considered one of the most beautiful frogs in the Southeast.

Appearance description from Google.

The Pine Barrens treefrog is a small frog that has toepads to help it climb trees. This species can reach a length of up to 1.5 inches (3.8 centimeters) (Florida Natural Areas Inventory 2001). Pine Barrens treefrogs have a pea-colored body that changes to a dark olive-green color when they are under certain conditions of stress and weather (Means 1992). They also have a brown band that reaches from their nostrils to their legs, a white belly and yellow spots throughout the body (Florida Natural Areas Inventory 2001).

Flashback November 22, 2010 Madi

Just for you....yes YOU!!!

Kit and David thank you all very much for the 30th anniversary wishes yesterday.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Ellen from 15andmeowing came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. I can’t wait to have TURKEY and dressing (that is what we call  stuffing here in Dixie) and Pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving.
2. Our Christmas tree goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving. We already have the  lights on our Camellia by the sidewalk. We did that early because of rain and very chilly weather .  All we have to do is plug them in to outlet.
     3. I’d like to create and APP for stringing Christmas lights so that when         you put up the last string you have the prong end for plugging into             receptacle.  Every so often we end up with the flat end and OMCs we         have to do it again.

     4. I prefer to shop EARLY when buying my weekly groceries.

Happy Tuesday stroll through Cameron Village

Thank you to our

We thank our Hostess Sandee at

 Comedy Plus

Photos snapped during a stroll thru Cameron Village (opened in October 1949) the oldest shopping center in Raleigh.

This is the same shopping center from last week's Cafe Carolina Review HERE

I shared many of the new things happening to spruce up this 75 year old shopping center.

It is within 2 miles of NCSU aka Wolf Pack Country's campus.  I'm not sure what the purpose is but FOR SURE IT IS FUN.  So many young folks have never seen a pay phone.
Maybe it is for selfies.

This colorful display sits by the phone booth.

Goodnight's Comedy Club was the first comedy club in Raleigh.  Many years ago we saw many up and coming comedians.  Even Ray Ramona  (aka star of TV's
Everybody loves Raymond) made several appearances at Goodnight's.
Our daughter and then beau (now husband) saw his routine.
It has moved from the original location to Cameron Village

Happy Tuesday indeed.

Awww Monday with 2 nephews and 1 Niece

We thank our Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

Queen Cali has claimed the cat igloo as her own property.

Mom ordered a new one, and Kat has decided it belongs to HIM!

I let Kat know I wasn’t giving up easily, but Mom convinced me to let him have it because he has to get insulin shots twice a day! Geez Louise, give me a break! 😹

Can you keep a secret? I’m a bit claustrophobic, and prefer my plush bed.

Grab some popcorn to see this quick fun movie.
Volume up please.
I still like to give him a hard time! I’m a Ginger Kitty; that’s what I do! 😹

Sincerely Rocky (Balboa)  aka as Ginger from Georgia

❤️ Rocky

Dearest Rocky

Mol mol mol  Auntie will guard your need to know  secret, …AND Kat and Cali don’t need to know. I purrsonally like to spread out too and sometimes I even let my paws dangle outside the covers.  Hot paws are no fun when tryin got sleep. That is a secret too

PS AUNTIE it is Rocky da Ginger from Georgia again.
My mom likes to dangle her paws from under the covers too.

You, Mom and I are like 3 peas in a pod..

Lovingly your Auntie HiC

Selfie Sunday and pictures of before and after of office

Selfie of my tall shadow on an EMW

Photos of before and after yesterday's interior painting.

Office/exercise/sewing room had not been painted in 25 years...
color is Sherwin William Breaktime Green  we loved it then and still do.  Thankful
SW still makes it.
The large desk, recumbent bike and chair were covered moved to center of room. Two small side tables were moved to the storage room.
All of the sewing/crafting furniture and desk chair are all wheels.
I rolled the sewing table and cabinet into the storage room that is connected to the room.

After it was painted, I vacuumed floor and mopped it before putting furniture back in place.
None of the furniture is completely against the wall yet.
We'll hang pictures mover furniture in place tomorrow.

Painter will be back Tuesday afternoon to paint our 1/2 bath.
The master bath, foyer and walls on either side of the stairs will be painted
Wednesday

Symmetry Saturday

Taken November 10, 2024, on an EMW around Lead Mine Lake
more photos to come.

In early October, we made arrangements with Tri-City Painting to do some
interior painting. We thought maybe late November to early December.
On Thursday November 14, at 9 am the painter called to ask if he could start painting
the guest bathroom and the laundry area.  Well of course when a painter
wants to come is it fine.  Neither of those areas required much prep on our part.

Today, November 16, while you enjoy this peaceful photo, he will be painting the office/exercise/craft room at 9am
He will be finished by early afternoon.

Good news is all the painting will be completed by the end of next week.

I  will read blogs from my iPad today. I have to type with one finger on my iPad so I won't be leaving any comments.  I will catch up with you all on Sunday.

Nature in NC #2 and Feline Friday

Nature Friday host LLB Gang   Click here Hostess Miss Mimi

Thank you for hosting!

Nature facts from NC and a few photos.
Recently Auntie's NCRGEA (North Carolina Retired Government Employee's Association)
monthly magazine arrived. It always has some fun puzzles etc in it.  This month it was
A Fall 2024 Word Search
"All Things North Carolina"
They wrote a sentence with facts about NC things then you had to find it.
I'll be sharing them this month

Today I'm sharing two

1.  State Sea Shell aka Sea Snail

The Scotch Bonnet was designated the state shell in 1965. The shape of the shell is also said to resemble the traditional Scottish wood bonnet called Tam o 'Shanter

 A  few facts from website
The shell is egg-shaped and fairly large, 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) in maximum dimension, with a regular pattern of yellow, orange or brown squarish spots. The surface sculpture of the shell is highly variable: the surface can be smooth and polished, have grooves, be granulated, or even be nodulose on the shoulder of the whorls.

Have you ever wondered about the 5 slits in a Sand dollar?
The five oblong holes, known as lunules and reflected in the skeletons, let water pass through them to reduce the lifting pressure of the current. The holes also let sand pass through and help them disappear into the bottom faster. When they die and wash ashore, their skeletons become works of art

Bonus photo of my sea shell and sand dollar collection

Any beachcomber who finds Sand Dollars along their stroll considers it a lucky omen! They aren't likely to be found on many beaches, but there are several spots around the United States where you'll find them.
I adore sand dollars.  Thirty + years ago,  I was fortunate to find four whole sand dollars at Atlantic Beach.

**************************

2. State Marsupial
In 2013 when the General Assembly was selecting North Carolina's State Marsupial, it was easy since the Virginia Opossum is the only marsupial in the State. *Read below photo why it is called Virginia

Few facts from NC wildlife site.

*The Virginia opossum (Didelphis virginiana), also known as the North American opossum, is a member of the opossum family found from southern Canada to northern Costa Rica (making it the northernmost marsupial in the world). Commonly referred to simply as the possum,[7] it is a solitary nocturnal animal about the size of a domestic cat, and a successful opportunist.
