Nature and Feline Friday Happy November

Nature Friday host LLB Gang   Click here Hostess Miss Mimi

Thank you for hosting!

My resident Master Gardener has been sprucing up planters and areas around the yard adding Pansies to the potted arrangements.
We are huge fans of Ajuga a ground covering.  Basically carefree once planted,
beautiful lavender flowers.  We gave very good luck with it

It easily adapts to living in planters
In the last year we discovered Bugleweed Ajuga, some facts about it below**.
We are very excited about the new plantings below.  They leaves are crinkly and curly.
Ajuga does very well in pots or in the ground.
(Left) photo of Bugleweed Ajuga we love the rich deep purple curly  leaves.
(Right) standard Ajuga in potted arrangement both on our Deck.

Just recently Bryan bought several Bugleweed Ajuga, arranged them below.
We can see this area from our bedroom window.

Description

Bugleweed is a broadleaf, evergreen to semi-evergreen, herbaceous perennial ground cover in the Lamiaceae (mint) family. It is native to Europe, northern Africa, and southwestern Asia. Its compact, dense mat has beautiful small clusters of purple flowers which appear in mid to late spring.

It tolearates all light levels and is an excellent choice for moist areas, although it will tolerate moderately dry soils.  In cool, shady areas where grass will not grow it makes a thick, attractive ground cover. Avoid planting in wet, heavy soils, and provide good air circulation. Divide these plants when they grow too crowded in the spring or fall, or propagate by seed.

Bugleweed is attractive in a mass planting in a naturalized area, on a slope or bank, or in a woodland garden. A dense mat will help smother weeds, but avoid planting near perennial beds or lawns where its spreading nature could pose removal problems.  This plant is resistant to browsing by deer.

Thankful Thursday on Halloween

Thankful Thursday hosted by

I AM THANKFUL FOR MY VERY FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD AND ALL THE PEEPS AND PUPS I SEE ON MY WALKS.

We've had some lovely weather over the last week or so.

I'm thankful for all the good walks some EMW some MAW (mid  afternoon walks)

One MAW was at about 3:30 I took 1/2 of my walk with Westie Rory and her mom.

They live on my street about 1/2 block from my house.
I never see them on my EMW...Rory aka Princess likes to sleep in.
After walking a bit with Rory she and her mom, she and her mom
reached their home.

************

Behind me (no photos) I saw Riggs, the Golden Retriever who lives on my
cul-de-sac.  Riggs was large and in charge of walking his Mom and his six month old baby brother.  His Mom and I had a nice chat.  He takes this responsibility very seriously.  He walked between me and the stroller.  He was happy to let me pet his silky golden furs and take a peep at his brother.  He stayed very close to the stroller.  No way to get a good photo of Riggs without getting baby brother in the photo.
FYI his baby brother was born on  my husband's bday, 4/27/24.

**********

As I was on my way home, along comes another Golden Retriever, Ollie. I've never seen him before. Not fully grown yet and still learning manners 101.  His Dad was worried he would jump on me so they  moved over to the side so I could pass.  I did find out Ollie is still a puppy, I might add he is  A BIG ONE. me. I look forward to watching him grow.

Oh and I also met a very skinny guy who was lurking in the bushes giving me a red eyed stare.

I hope you can hear the chimes...only 15 seconds turn up your volume
the are quite pretty

All of these wonderful encounters happened in about 30 minutes!!

***************
This home is across the street from us.
I walked to the curb to take a photo of the decorations...when
lo and behold...I got a bonus, their Doodle in the window (lower left window) watching.
All of the Halloween decorations have lights at night.
However, with the street lights it is hard to get a great photo.

Fun decorations seen on EMW
Not sure why this cow is hanging from a space ship but it made me giggle

Happy Tasty Tuesday at Relish

Thank you to our

We thank our Hostess Sandee at

 Comedy Plus

Today's review is of RELISH

Top photo is out door dining area

Bottom photo part of the very large dining room.

All of the wait staff had on Relish T-shirts with fun quotes.  They were very busy and moving quickly.

I was able to read the below

“I want to grow my own food, but  can’t find bacon seeds‼️”

And this very accommodating server posed for me.

Most all businesses in NC are donating a portion of profits to Western NC..estimated damage in our mountains is
$53 Billion....yes BILLION.

WE liked the artsy window on the wall behind our booth

Both selections were good but just too much food. WE could have easily shared one or the other. Next time we go we'll share.
GOOD news is we didn't need much supper.  I had a bowl of Cheerios. Bryan had a
Ginger Ale and Lime Sherbet float.

Awww Monday with Cali and Sparks

We thank our Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

I told Mom we needed to do some Fall decorating.  I’m already decorated with my orange & black markings!

I was  disappointed Mom didn’t do more porch decorations, but she said “less is more”! I think she’s just lazy! 😹
Check out the beautiful spider web created by a Joro spider.
Friends, do you have Joros where you live?

This is a rhyme Mom taught her kiddos every Halloween! 🎃
