Saturday Stitches and Symmetry

The middle of May I posted that I ' might'
have a new crochet project.  It has gotten off to a slow start but it has started.

My next crochet project 'might' be learning or attempting to learn
63 patterns.  All are 7" squares.

Left to right 3, 7" squares
single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet
each 7" square is finished off with single crochets around the border
3 single crochets in each corner of the square.

variegated pastel single crochet

 aqua half double crochet

Dusty rose Double Crochet

I first posted this on April 30.  It is definitely worth a re post.

It is from First Watch one of our favorite breakfast cafes.

  1. I like your squares. They all look perfect. If I had made them I'm quite certain that they would have all ended up different sizes.
I've been meaning to pull out some of the crochet books I have to find a simple project to work on in the evenings.

  2. The pig on the wall is almost as colorful as your yarn. This looks like you're doing quite well and it's fun to see you using different stitches on each block. What's fun about doing blocks as you can do one or three and then put it up until you feel like getting out again.

  3. The varigated pastel single crochet calls to me. I know nothing about crochet, I just know what makes me happy. I think it is going to be a joy to "watch"(?) you learn 63 patterns. I have no doubt you will achieve your goal.
We like First Watch too. We aren't "out to eat for breakfast" peeps anymore. We should do brunch or lunch. I would like The Traditional please or the Ham and Gruyere Melt. They do have some symmetry going on there. I am sorry my comments are always long. I am chatty.

  12. You are very talented! We like First Watch but we don't go very often, it's crazy crowded.

  13. Very nicely done. The squares look like the perfect size for potholders with the right yarn:). We are curious to see what other stitches you will try.
