Thoroughly Thankful and Poetic Thursday #214

 Thankful Thursday hosted

THANKFUL FOR ALEX and his crew of very handy, friendly and careful young men who arrived at 8AM  Monday, June 2, 2025.

His truck says, painting, drywall, power washing, repairs, and MORE.

Very very thankful for the care they took while painting our front door AND REPLACING WEATHER STRIPPING, he painted half bath door, and pantry door.   They put plastic everywhere.  They also power washed our deck, put a new railing on the right side of our front steps. AND THEY VACUUMED after they finished!!!!!

Freshly painted door the color is Dignity Blue.

MOL MOL Not RED.  But I do love this color

Since his truck said "and more".

I asked him if they would do two things that were not on our original 'to do list'.

1. Change a light bulb in the guest room downstairs. The ceiling is 9'.  We have a step stool with handles on either side but we don't climb that high.

2. take a very heavy fire and water proof safe out to our trash can for pick up. HE picked that thing up like it was a cotton ball.

Our new fire and water proof safe this week.

WE ARE VERY THANKFUL

  4. Beautiful color choice for a welcoming front door, makes me think of the "Williamsburg" line of traditional color choices. How wonderful to find a true and good team of helpful home workers, willing to go the extra mile ...

  5. It's terrific when you find a competent person that can do multiple fixes for you. Instead of a person that only does one thing and you have to call 10 people to get everything finished. I love blue so the blue door is just beautiful. Enjoy it every time you walk through.

  6. The door looks terrific! I need an Alex and his crew for the remaining odd jobs here! (I'm echoing Lynn's comment about having to call multiple people!)

As for that photo...interesting spot to picnic! Fun for kids of all ages, I imagine, but I'm not sure I'd want my legs in water while eating my lunch!

  9. So, Alex and his crew are elevated handymen. They sound awesome. Handymen in our older demographic neighborhood can make good money... although reliable handymen that do quality work are hard to find. Looks like you should save their business card! Love your door color.. I am fond of blue :)
A very interesting photo for Poetry Thursday. Most excellent words for that photo!

  10. Love the color of your front door and you have a wonderful crew doing the work! We will have temps near 90 degrees today so the water park looks like the place to be!

  13. I wish they were here, exactly what we need. there is so much Bob did and now can't and I never could do it.. I have learned to do a lot I did not think I could do, but ladders are not on that list. also I don't know how to check the fluids in the car and there is a drip puddle under my Kia... LOVE that blue, back in the 70's that color was trending, back before the word was used, and I had a winter coat that color

  17. The door looks great and especially with the mat outside there. It's nice when they can help out with things that are simple for them and hard for others.

  23. How great you asked and got everything done! We have a wonderful handy man who often trades for grooms for his pup. But he's almost 80 and not doing so well, so it's time to find someone else for the more strenuous stuff. *sigh* I don't even know where to start...

  24. I forgot to say I absolutely love the blue door!!
