Nature and Feline Friday

Our hosts for Nature Friday  LLB Gang

Photos were taken at 8 am on December 9th.

About 3pm on Monday December 8th it STARTED Snowing in Dixie

It was light snow the ground was wet from the rain/sleet earlier in the day

I hear lots of laughter coming thru the inter webs...

It snowed lightly all night. On Tuesday, December 9th, the cars had a light coating on the top,
the streets, driveway, side walk and steps were clear.
THIS IS HOW WE DO SNOW IN DIXIE

FYI THIS WAS OUR FIRST SNOW AND IT WAS VERY EARLY FOR SNOW IN DIXIE

I HOPE THIS ISN'T GOING TO BE A PATTERN CARRIED ON INTO 2026

  1. Your tree is being safely guarded and it looks beautiful, as does the snow. I hope it doesn't snarl everything up. We had snow a few days ago but it wasn't very much and it's all gone now. Hugs, Denise xo

  2. Yes, that’s the way we like our southern snow; here today, gone tomorrow!
Madi would make a purr-fect present under the Christmas tree❣️🐈‍⬛🎄

  3. Lovely flashback of Madi and the tree. On the rare occasions we get snow, it looks pretty much like that too.

  4. Your snow is no fun to play in, Miss Cecilia - and now mine is all gone as the rains and warmer temps move in. Your Christmas tree is gorgeous, Madi!

Snow by the Hutch is just as rare - and comical, compared to what many have to endure. It does help with the festive feeling though, don't you find? Love the Madi flashbacks! YAM xx

  6. Now that's a snowfall I could live with. It's a mix of snow and rain here this morning. We are again expecting a lake effect storm with up to 6" of snow.
Madi did a thorough inspection of that tree.

  7. I might be chuckling a bit, but really, when you live somewhere without snow, typically, even a dusting such as this can become dangerous. We're "enjoying" high winds and heavy rain right now, but at least it's getting rid of some of a lot of our snow before we get back to winter.

The flashback with Madi was sweet. Did she ever try to climb the tree? Angels Chumley and Annie were worse than my boys! 😆🎄

  8. We would say you got a dusting! It is a mess here which is a shame as winter started out so very nice. We have had bitter cold to far too warm, snow, rain, and blizzard conditions. All we want is a normal cold and snow winter but that doesn't seem to be in the cards right now.

  9. Nothing funny about this year being so bitterly cold that I made it that far down in the Deep south. We had rain yesterday but guess what it's snowing this morning and it's going to be about 15° again tonight. Love the pictures of your sweet angel under the Christmas tree. Instead of on top of the tree, lol.

  10. Yes, we are chuckling a little about your snow up here. The snow fall up here has been above average while the temps have been below average, although all the snow we had is now gone from a few days of above normal temps and rain. What a fun flash back of Miss Madi too.

  11. What a pretty site. I think that is the best kind of snow, the kind that is gone by lunchtime LOL. Rosy would disagree ;-)

  13. Hark the Herald Cat does sing! Love it. In 1986 or 87, it snowed in Dixie in Savannah GA and we happened to be there for Christmas. we came out and our 78 Ponitac looked just like your cars do... we were shocked, but happy the roads were clear all the way to Florida...

  17. We haven't had any snow yet and we're quite okay with that! Such a sweet flashback.

  18. I'm in Georgia and we haven't had snow. Even if we had the sprinkling like you did, our schools would have been closed and there would have been a run on the grocery store, lol.

  19. So far we had a flurry a few weeks ago. Since I live on the highest point in town, ain't no fun getting down off of this steep hill. So, so will start some tine in January, That and Feb. thru easy March are heck around here. Had 12 inches last year which I posted in FB and probably my own blog, not the little Boss lady's.

  21. If y'alll had some snow, Chattanooga probably did too. I'm in the middle of the Atlantic on the QM2, and have wondered what the weather was doing at home. HOw nice to see Angel Madi investigating under the tree.

  22. South Louisiana doesn't do snow well, either. Most of the time it's just slush, or what you have here. Last year's actual several inches was a first, and we hope a last.

Maddie must have really loved her tree and I don't blame her. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!
