Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats
Today's photo challenge
Sweet Kitty and Precious puppy
.
An amazing family came into the shelter looking for
furry friends,
The first thing they saw a puppy tenderly holding a kitty's tail
in his mouth.
What is their story they asked?
The shelter told the family they were both found cuddled
together.
Their bond was like no other, said the volunteer
The family said we want them both...we'll become their
furever family.
The volunteer smiled, the children squealed with glee.
We are now a family of six,
We'll teach them tricks
Give them lots love and toys
We'll call the kitty Mitch and the Puppy Patch.
In mid-February a visit to Capitol Ear, Nose and Thorat for a hearing test.
It was determined my daily life would be greatly improved with hearing aid.
I am very thankful for Emmaline my audiologist at Capitol Ear, Nose and Throat.
Early March during my visit with Emmaline, explained all the hearing tests graphs to help me understand what I WAS NOT hearing.
On top of hearing loss I have a terrible case of Tinnitus. March 12th I was fitted with Phonak aids...
March 25 I went back for some minor tweaks including a smaller Phonak aid that goes behind my ear.
I'll just say they have made a huge difference in my day to day. The biggest difference is the buzzing from Tinnitus is GONE!! She told me I will need to wear them as much as I can (ideally 10 hours a day) to train my brain. I go back to see Emmaline on April 15
The video below was recorded on March 26...the bird's serenade was amazing.
Also thankful the dental visit to get my Permanent Bridge on March 26 was quick...only an hour!!

Ahhh, so good to be able to hear birdies and around here we here the peepers at the pond down the road a bit. When my aunt gor her hearing back, she said she had forgotten what the sound of the tea going into the cup was like!
ReplyDeleteGlad your dentist appt was good too!
yay for completing the dentist challenge.. and we love that poem... a happy end in a double way :O)
ReplyDeleteCute picture and story. I'm glad you are getting all fixed up.
ReplyDeleteI wear hearing aids and the difference between having them in and going without them is unbelievable. They sure do help increase your quality of life.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you only spent an hour at the dentist.
That is a lovely story in your poem. I am glad the hearing aid has made such a difference for you, and I am also glad the bridge work went well.
ReplyDeleteLove this photo and your poem! I'm so happy that your dental visits will be ending soon and to be able to hear the birds singing in the spring because of your hearing aids is a wonderful happy thing!

ReplyDeleteAw, love your Mitch and Patch tale... and what? You caught my attention about the tinnitus - I live with constant loud and whiny, so I went off down the rabbit hole... seems aids can help distract the brain with external sounds improved, balancing out the internal ones...not everyone gains benefit. I may have to investigate further, though! YAM xx
You certainly been a busy woman sitting in one doctor's chair or another. Nice to hear that you're getting help with hearing aids. I have a husband who's needed it for years and refuses to give in to it. So I have to get a louder voice everyday.
ReplyDeleteYou are getting a complete renovation and it is going so well for you! We are sure hearing what you have been missing for a while must be amazing! Good for you to get all these things done for yourself.
ReplyDeleteYour poem made me smile, and you hearing all the birdies made me smile even more❣️
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful poem C!!
ReplyDeleteI am over the moon happy that you have found a solution to the tinnitus and are hearing beautiful bird songs!!
big hugs,
Beth
A happy start to the day with your poem. It is the best that you can hear bird speak and song again! I don't know what I would do without all the bird voices we have in the morning and through the day. Jerry needs hearing aids, he just doesn't know it!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute poem for that picture. I'm glad to hear the new hearing aids are working well for you. I don't need help with my hearing yet, but I would love to get rid of the tinnitus.
ReplyDeleteThat was a wonderful adoption ode! Hooray for you withthe hearing aids, I've had them for 5 years or so. Yes, wear them because your brain does train itself to your new hearing environment! I'm happy to hear you crossed that bridge when you got to it. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely ADORED your poem for the photo......it gave me tears....happy tears! I'm also happy to hear that you have some help hearing !! It's an adjustment I know - my sister has had hearing aids for a while too. You're all set now - new teeth and ears!!!! Hope you and your hubby have a beautiful Easter.......thanks for joining us in Poetic Thursday fun.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
I just noticed your new header! Love it❣️

ReplyDeleteI love the different - and touching - take on the picture. Very happy for you that these medical things have been taken care of satisfactorily.
