Today we join
Opposite of Polar Plunge
Sun fun galore
Oh no frozen water for us
Look at our smiles
Age has moved us to warmer waters
Roaring with laughter
Perhaps folks call us crazy
Look we are not phased
Undies are drenched
Never fear at our age we have extras
Good times for all
Everyone watching is envious our toes in the water not boots
Thank you all for you comments on the first Teapot post. There will be one each week for the next month or so.
Today I am thankful for another most dependable person...our
Derwin at Young's Tree Tech. Recently we noticed a very large limb from one of our trees was broken and hanging over our neighbor's shrubs..(it was caught by the shrubs and didn't damage anything). We told our neighbors we were get it removed. Derwin has been our go to tree removal guru for 25 years. I called him Friday June 5, he came out to estimate it Saturday June 6. He came on June 10 to remove the limb and cut back all limbs around the house that were hanging over the roof. Very thankful the tree is healthy. It is actually a Siamese tree...MOL trunk was joined as it came out of the ground but turned into two beauties. It has the most beautiful red leaves in the fall.

such a wonderful description in your poem... we really could feel it (fortunately not the wet undies hahahaha)

ReplyDeleteYour acrostic is mighty pleasing! And how great to have workmen you can trust! YAM xx
What a wonderful poem for the photo this week! Who cares about drenched undies (unless they're drenched with you know what!).........it's great you have a good "tree guy" - when we have beautiful trees around something is always needing to be trimmed or removed. We do the same. Big Hugs........Pam and Teddy
ReplyDeleteThank goodness nothing was damaged by the tree limb and your poem is perfect for the photo! They sure look like they are having fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the poem.
ReplyDeleteNice to have a good reliable person to take care of the trees.
Definitely something to be thankful for, when you can get a big tree pruned back so that you don't have to worry about damage to the house. Happy Thursday
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs a good tree guy. Mom would like to cut down every tree we have and rip out all the shrubs. Everything needs so much work, constant trimming, picking up branches because it is windy. She regrets ever planting things as it only makes for a lot of work and for her it is not worth the time and they all need constant care. It is not fun work and she has too many other things she would rather spend her time on.
ReplyDeleteOde to a tree ... fix me! Oh, thank you, you repaired my hurty says the tree! Good work on your poetry, I struggled and never could get one done for this week ... do agree that "age requires warmer waters", ha-ha!
ReplyDeleteLoved the poem! Big smiles here with us two! There were gigantic trees all hanging over our house when Mom first had it. Several 90 footers were downed after 20 years living here out of fear they would either uproot or drop giant limbs on the house. We get lots of tornadoes here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect poem today, it put a big smile on my face!
ReplyDeleteYay for a safe, limb free yard too!!
hugs,
Beth
PS...I have been forgetting to answer your "Italian Restaurant Flower" question from earlier in the week...Believe it or not, the pink blooms are bougainvillea. It was blooming all over the city. Reminded me of our bougainvillea bush in California.
Love the photo & poem! Wonderful to see us seniors having fun! Derwin did a great job on the tree! I know you’re happy to have that project completed. Lovely 4th of July flower arrangement on patio table! 🇺🇸
ReplyDeleteGreat fun poem. Love that you took care of the tree removal. One more thing crossed off to To-Do List.
ReplyDeleteI love your poem for that picture. Having a good tree service is wonderful. With all the ash trees we've had to remove we've gotten close with our tree guys too.
ReplyDeleteI like your acrostic poems! This is fun. That's what it looks like down here pretty much🌞 You find the best worker peeps!
ReplyDeletewow! great poem and glad you have a good 'tree monkey' ~ Love trees but they can be problematic ~ Enjoy your day ~ Hugs ^_^
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Cecilia and Angel Madi ~ xo
Lulu: "We used to have big palm trees out front that would drop giant fronds from time to time! Fortunately they never damaged anything because there was never anything directly below them."
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Our neighbors did collect about 50 pounds of palm tree seeds from the bed of their old pickup truck when they finally had it taken away to be junked, though."
Good job!
ReplyDeleteThat was a terrific poem and hooray for the wonderful tree monkeys! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteLoved the poem and the photos. A fun coincidence that we both had our tree trimming blogs this week :) Hugs, Denise
ReplyDeleteGreat poem. I am jealous they can jump higher than I can. XO
ReplyDeleteYour poem is just right and as for your tree guy, we need one of those here.
ReplyDeleteThe seniors in that picture sure do look like they're having a great time! I wish our back neighbor was as responsible with his trees as you are!
