• Dear Auntie HiC, 
  
  
  With the warmer weather, I’ve decided to resume walking on my leash, aiming to shed any “winter weight” I might have gained.
  
  
  It was wonderful to be outdoors in nature, surrounded by a variety of sights, smells, and sounds. I even climbed a small mountain. (Pile of mulch!)

I ventured down the driveway the other day, & was too exhausted to walk back up, so Dad carried me! 😹

Of course, when I returned, Rocky was checking me out.

I plan to walk 3-4 times a week so I’ll be looking buff for bathing suit season! 😹

Chelle lives in Palm Coast, Florida. Chelle takes lots lovely road trips on the weekend

Dear Auntie HiC,

Mom affectionately calls me her “lovely little kitty”!

Of course, there are many other words that could be used to describe my appearance, such as beautiful, pretty, gorgeous, stunning, magnificent, captivating, radiant, ravishing, alluring, exquisite, and divine,  just to name a few! 😹

Lovely might sound ordinary or subdued compared to other adjectives. However, one of Mom’s favorite Stevie Wonder songs is called “Isn’t She Lovely,” and she sings it to me frequently. If it brings Mom joy, then I’m delighted as well.

Madi Has a Dream

Mini Madi, Madi and friends on their hunt.

Mini Madi tracked these giant paw prints 

 to a huge petrified egg but it was too big for her mini mouth

  Her keen kitty sense of smell then lead her and her two mini

pals to a duck with a multicolored egg but the 

duck was not ready to lay her egg  so

Mini Madi kept sniffing and searching until she

found a teeny tiny Easter basket full of 

teeny tiny treats just for her.  She was happy

as could be finally something she could eat.

 I, Madi, was taking itty bitty kitty nap.  When 

lo and behold, I awoke to find

eggs everywhere and no clue who laid them 

or why they laid them....hopefully it wasn't me!!

 All of a sudden this critter, of unknown 

origin, appeared with a basket of eggs...surely I

must be dreaming

 But another sniff and a blink and I was

joined by mini me showing me her goodies

Such nonsense, I refused to pawticipate.

There was something very interesting outside

When I turned back around I found a 

Purple Peter Cottontail.  Now I'm sure I'm dreaming....

I shook my head and slowly opened by eyes

and was delighted to learn it was indeed a dream

all the mini critters, baskets, petrified eggs,

the critter of unknown origin and Purple Peter Cottontail

were gone.  That new nip is stronger than I thought....I

must use it sparingly from now on.

Madi: Why I love the weekends

Because Mom and Dad are both home...we get to

sleep late, eat bagels, drink coffee, smell the flowers

and read the paper........
and get advice.....I hope Mom doesn't find out I wrote to Dear Amy.

Sweet Kitty and Precious puppy

An amazing family came into the shelter looking for

furry friends, 

The first thing they saw a puppy tenderly holding a kitty's tail

in his mouth.

What is their story they asked? 

The shelter told the family they were both found cuddled

together. 

Their bond was like no other, said the volunteer

The family said we want them both...we'll become their 

furever family.

The volunteer smiled, the children squealed with glee.

We are now a family of six, 

We'll teach them tricks 

Give them lots love and toys

We'll call the kitty Mitch and the Puppy Patch.

 Thankful Thursday hosted

In mid-February a visit to Capitol Ear, Nose and Thorat for a hearing test.

It was determined my daily life would be greatly improved with hearing aid.

I am very thankful for Emmaline my audiologist at Capitol Ear, Nose and Throat.

Early March during my visit with Emmaline, explained all the hearing tests graphs to help me understand what I WAS NOT hearing.

On top of hearing loss I have a terrible case of Tinnitus.  March 12th I was fitted with Phonak aids...

March 25 I went back for some minor tweaks including a smaller Phonak aid that goes behind my ear.

I'll just say they have made a huge difference in my day to day. The biggest difference is the buzzing from Tinnitus is GONE!!  She told me I will need to wear them as much as I can (ideally 10 hours a day) to train my brain.  I go back to see Emmaline on April 15

The video below was recorded on March 26...the bird's serenade was amazing.

 

Also thankful the dental visit to get my Permanent Bridge  on March 26 was quick...only an hour!!

Dear Auntie HiC,

I received the most magical gift in the mail from Auntie Lynn and Precious!

It’s a beautiful, green crocheted (by Auntie Lynn, and snoopervised by Precious), premium catnip filled Easter egg! Oh my goodness gracious, I went absolutely BONKERS over it!

Auntie Lynn kindly said I could share it with Kat & Cali, but I’m keeping all to myself for now! I believe it has special Precious aroma on it & I don’t want them to ruin that!

I think it’s obvious this is my favorite toy EVER!!!

Dear Auntie HiC,  

You may recall a few months ago I jumped to the top shelf in Mom’s closet! 

I was incredibly grateful for her assistance, and I was curious to know if you all believed I had learned my lesson.

I revisited the comments, and to my surprise, the majority of you were confident that I would repeat a similar action.  You are smart cookies! 😹

During our February ice storm, & subsequent days long power outage, Dad hooked us up to the portable generator. He had to move the refrigerator away from the wall to get the cords positioned properly. 

Wellllll, the fridge was pushed close enough for me to jump from top of fridge to the tippy top of the 4 door cupboard!  

I had no idea what I would discover upthere! 🙀🙀🙀

Mom collects local pottery & she had placed two “face jugs” on the top of the cupboard. Face jugs were believed to ward off evil spirits & to scare kids from getting into the contents. (Medicine, or even moonshine).

Those ugly faces definitely turned me into a Scaredy Cat! 

I started howling & of course Mom came running! She didn’t see me at first because I was up so high! She let out a big laugh, but I found nothing funny about my predicament!
