Chicken Soup for The Soul: Loving our Cats

This is a coffee table book. I pick it up every so often and each time I smile. Nearly every short story has a quote at the beginning followed by touching tributes to cats. I know I'm a crazy cat lady but really and truly cats are very special, all have their own personalities and are good companions. Madi has a special meow, that I only hear in the morning, she greets me with the signature cat greeting which is their tail very straight and vertical with the very tip curved. It looks like a question mark. Madi is indeed the ultimate Diva cat but she is also a very sweet kitty and we are fortunate to have her in our lives. These are some of my favorites from Chicken Soup for the Soul: Loving our Cats.

1."Kittens are angels with whiskers", author unknown

2."God Made the cat in order that man might have the pleasure of caressing the lion" Fernand Mery

3."As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat", Ellen Perry Berkeley

4."One must love a cat on its own terms", Paul Gray

5."Most cats, when they are OUT want to be in, and vice versa and often simultaneously", LJ Camuti,

6."Dogs have owners, cats have staff", Author is unknown, but he certainly knew Madi and we are proud to be her staff.

  1. My friend that used to be owned by 4 cats at one time would totally agree with: dogs have owners, cats have staff! She was always waiting on one of her beautiful felines! LOL

  3. BC (Black Cat) was a diva if ever there was one and felt I was "staff", Randy felt we were door monitors..there to open and close as he willed. Quiche..my special fellow..knew that I was his and he waited patiently for my attention. I miss them all.

  4. Very cute! Emily almost convinced me to bring home an adorable little tabby from PetSmart yesterday (that's where we found Lizzie and Gabby) - there were two sisters that were 7 weeks old that looked just like Tigger. So cute - funny enough one was named Nora and the other Nina.. Nora was already adopted though ... :o)

  7. My personal favorite is the line that goes like this... "Cats were once worshipped as gods. They have never forgotten this."
