Happy Fourth of July,
Mom and I thought one of us should pose next to our Grand Flag. I'm all paws when it comes to using a camera so Mom had to be the one taking the picture. I'm happy to admit, my four paws have NEVER touched the ground (diva remember). We decided to use my understudy in the picture. I, personally, think this kitty looks like a scaredy cat. I asked Mom if this is what happens to a cat when it's paws touch the ground?
We wish our friends near and far a glorious and safe Fourth of July. Madi & Mom

Just plain HOT today
The official high today was 97 and a good day to be in an nice cool theater watching "The Proposal", which, for the most part, was filmed in Sitka, Alaska. Excellent, fun filled movie. Today's very cool and refreshing pictures were taken on our trip to Alaska in May 2005.

Imagine.....
Mom loves this funky, fun piece of art at the entrance of a small strip mall near home in North Raleigh. She told me everytime she sees it she smiles. We both love the vibrant colors and whimsical animals. It sits just a few feet away from a branch of the Wake Co. Library. It just makes her imagination work over time...she told me she certainly hopes all children who see this run like lightning to the library to check out tons of books. Madi and Mom

Wolf Pride and Lonnie Poole Golf Course NCSU
What a beautiful day to wander around Centennial campus at NCSU. These magnificent wolves are by Dick Idol, NCSU alumni, www.dickidol.com
The stand guard outside the Roy and Dorothy Park Alumni Center on Centennial Campus. The wolf is NCSU's mascot
Today the highly anticipated Lonnie Poole professional Golf Course opened unofficially on Centennial Campus. It will be used for the turf managment classes at NCSU, the NCSU Golf Team will use it for practice. In just a few years this portion of Centennial campus will have a hotel with full meeting facilities and of course this professionally designed golf course will be instrumental in drawing large groups for meetings and conferences. The official opening is July 11, 2009. The buildings in the distance are downtown Raleigh.

Monday Memories Toto 1974-1983
Toto:
Descripton: physically 10 lb mini-Dachshund, mentally a 100% Great Dane. My peeps have many funny stories and fond memoires of life with the little red demon dog. Most of the stories make my kitten days sound calm and I was 200% kitten for over a year. His favorite outside activity was to harrass Toby, our neighbor's very large Golden Retriever. Toto would position himself between Toby's back legs nipping at the lovely, feathery fur on Toby's legs. Toby would run in circles trying to catch the little red demon dog. His favorite inside activity was hunting, as in seek and destroy as many Barbie Dolls as he could before being caught. He especially liked Barbies legs and feet. Toto was master of his domain. Madi
