Oops I Ate It......Award

Our Thanks to Tank for the delicious award!

The Rules to this award are as follows:

'When accepting this award you must blog about the food you have stolen when your humans weren't watching. If you have never stolen any food, you must be a very good pup or kitty. You can accept this yummy tray of cookies as your reward!!! Next add the logo of this award to your blog (optional), then nominate at least 5 other furry blogs and let them know by leaving them a message on their blogs."

As I told Tank I'm not sure if there is enough room on the post to list all the things I have stolen. You see if my peeps eat it then I think it must be super duper ok for me to eat it.

1.I absolutely love to stick my head in my peeps coffee cup. I don't drink the coffee but I love to lick the rim of the cups.

2. Once I stuck my head in a nearly empty tub of Brummel and Brown margarine. Oh was it good. Mom screamed at me so loud "NO MADI" (my ears rang for hours afterwards) "Now I'm going to have to throw the Brummel and Brown away"! I say why, I eat after you why can't you eat after me?

In true Madi form...she isn't following the rules of 5. She wanted to pass this award to 3 new Dog friends and 3 new Cat friends: Remington, Sadie, Cole, Huffle, Beautiful Creation and The Kitty Krew

Buns of steel......

Madi only exercises under duress. Often Madi and I will be headed upstairs at the same time. She stops dead in her 'paws', looks up at me with those gorgeous greenish-gold eyes as if to say, 'how about a lift'? I tell her she'll have buns of steel if she exercises more. In return, I get a look when translated with HBO words deleted to 'I don't want buns of steel'.
Note: Don't feel sorry for her...she can take those stairs two at a time.

Finally Friday (Madi is back)

Due to popular demand, I'm back...thanks for all your nice comments about missing me. What an absolutely exhausting week this has been. A Diva's work is never done. Daily photo shoots, helping Mom edit my blog....oh me, oh my I can hardly hold up my head. (heavy sigh) Good News,
Mom says it is nearly Friday. I'm sure I can make it now. What Mom, the flashy box will be out this weekend? No rest for the weary when you live with a shutter bug. Happy Friday: Madi

Thursday this and that

Here are a few more pictures from our trip to the Yadkin Valley Wine Trail....
Madi is camera shy today.

Raffaldini's winery was in a beautiful location in the Yadkin Valley area of North Carolina.
The Brushy Mountains can be seen in the distance. The winery had quite an impressive entrance.
The land around the winery reminded me of scenes from the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun".

Where is the pork....Wednesday

Mom was making some mighty fine smelling vittles last night. Her George Foreman grill was sitting in this very spot with pork chops sizzling. My plan was to let the grill cool off then sneak a lick before she washed it. Mom has eyes in the back of her head and she can read kitty minds too. She got the grill washed before I could get to it...then she dried it with this blue towel under me. By the time I got to the counter top, all I had was a faint aroma of pork chops in the air. So plan B was to absorb some of the lovely aroma from the towel into my fur then lick myself into a porky coma. By the look in my eyes it worked. Madi

Dachshund Chronicles: Staying w/Grandparents

Another random Toto story (1974-1984 first family pet) Normally when we were going out of town for the weekend, we'd leave Toto with my parents. Like most animals getting in the car meant one of two things vet or fun. He was a smart little fellow. The Vet was only two blocks from home which took about 5 minutes. After a few extra minutes in the car, he knew he was headed for FUN...aka over the hill and through a few lights to Granny's house we go. Toto had my parents wrapped around his itty bitty tiny red paws. He loved his Mighty Dog food except when he was with them. All of a sudden it became the worst food. He would go on a hungry strike. He knew my mom would go to McDonalds to buy him a plain hamburger 2 times a day. Thankfully she did not give him the bun. This is the same woman who told me my daughter, her only grandchild, would eat something when she got hungry enough. Talk about spoiling, it was the dog she spoiled not the child.
Note: picture is just for color....Mom liked the chair
