Madi: There is a mystery brewing.....

Yesterday I overheard an encrypted conversation between Mom and Dad. It went something like this, Mom said,"I can hardly wait, we'll be heading to the hills tomorrow for some R&R".

They are both looking pleased as punch about something; however, it seems a tad mysterious to me. I believe I'm going to have to call in my friend Detective Cy(ber) Geek to assist me with a thorough investigation.

THE MYSTERY:

#1 We live on a hill, why go to another hill?
#2. R&R is short for rock and roll right? We have R&R right here on our hill.
Cy says I should 'surf the web' for answers to my mystery.
Cy gave me many tips to help me with my investigation.

He said you will have to get very close to the monitor so that you can read all the information

and I would have to click a mouse to maneuver around cyber space. I'd rather chase a mouse but for the time being I'll follow Cy's instructions .

After asking a few questions, and a lot of mouse clicking, I found out the following:

'Heading to the hills' is Peep Speak for going to the mountains and 'R&R' stands for rest and relaxation. It appears I'm not invited which is fine with me. I don't like to ride in cars, I'm perfectly happy to stay on my hill for some R&R. Miss Debbie the best pet sitter in the world will be dropping by each day. She takes very good care of me but she doesn't BLOG so Madi and Mom Blog will be on R&R too.

Mom told me some of the things they are going to do and quite frankly it doesn't sound like rest and relaxation. They will tour the Biltmore Estate and and have supper at The Deer Park Inn. Depending on the weather, they hope to take a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Scenic Railroad. Stay tuned for more pictures than you care to see of what mom and dad did in the hills while they were on R&R. They'll be back home in just a few days. Evidently getting R&R doesn't take long. (Hint: if you click on, mountain, Biltmore Estates, and Great Smoky Mountain Scenic Railroad you can read a little about each)

NOTE FROM MOM: It only took 4 pieces of kibble placed directly in front of the monitor and about 10 pictures, to get Madi right where I wanted her!!! Who knew....you can teach an cat a few tricks...with the right motivation. Everyone have a great few days, we'll miss you.

Madi: Friday Friend, My Dad

Hi Friends...I'm excited to introduce you to my Dad. Mom calls this picture 'My pumpkin holding his green pumpkin'!!! Pretty silly but that is how she talks. Here is the thing, Dad and my human sister love pumpkins. They like to one up each other on who buys theirs first, how much they paid and how big it is. Dad and sis have been talking about green pumpkins. Sis hasn't seen any in her city so Dad can hardly wait to tell her he has a green one. Our dogwoods are just starting to show off their fall colors.
Dad is my buddy we spend our days together.....

Mom took this last weekend...when it was warm.
She was going to post this a little later but with the cool weather here (barely 50 today) she thought she better post now. BTW Do your moms and dads have weird habits like mine do? Dad always hates to have to give up wearing shorts. Mom wears sandals until her toes turn purple. She had to wear socks yesterday for the first time since early April...They are weird birds but I love them anyway. Thankfully I don't have issues with clothes or shoes. Thanks for stopping by, Madi

Madi: Breakfast Routine

I bet you are all saying I've seen this before but you have not seen this exact one. This was taken at 5:45 am today. Every morning I lovingly prepare Madi's small portion (1/4 can) of Fancy Feast. If it comes out of the fridge, I add 2 tsp of warm water to it, yes really, the Diva is not fond of cold food. While she is inhaling the Fancy Feast, I go up to clean her box. When I return, she is ALWAYS exactly where you see her, staring in the direction of her dishes, impatiently waiting for her morning portion ( 1/3) cup of Natural Choice kibbles. If it isn't promptly served, she will resort to a pitiful meow, quickly followed by circling my feet and loud meowing. The Diva's Cook

Madi: The story of 4 boxes

Boxes are a very important part of a Kittie's life. There are all types:

necessary boxes, fun boxes and evil boxes.

This post will be about all types.

First and most important to a kitty is the litter box

*

PICTURE NOT INCLUDED

(You are welcomed, to your thank you, for not including it)

My very favorite box in the world is my 'box with a window'.

It might look like an ordinary Office Depot box to you but it IS NOT.

I can see everything that goes on in my house from the window

and I can take the best naps in this box.

My next favorite is a magical box, it turns my 2 laser eyes in to 4

giving me extra powers to see all and know all.

Last but not often visible is this box.......

labeled "Madi's Box"...ah you say that must be filled with

wonderful delightful "Madi Treasures".
*
*
to that I reply a big fat

N.......O..........N.........O........ N........O..........

That box is filled with anything but treasures...

(Kitties close your eyes before your Mom shows you this picture)

Madi's box

contains

instruments of torture

THE DREADED NAIL CLIPPERS AND FILES

NOT ONLY DOES MOM HAVE 1 OF EACH SHE HAS 2 OF EACH

DOUBLE THE FUN.....

I must say clipping my claws doesn't hurt...Mom does a very good job.
What I dislike is being held like a baby (Dad's job). I'm on my back, I have NO CONTROL, I'm confined and to top it off, Mom holds my paws one at at time. Now tell me how many kitties do you know who like to have their paws held. NONE.

Except for this torture every 6 weeks, my life is

cat-tastic.

The End
