My Saturday was ruined.....

Saturday morning my favorite day of the week. Why...well Mom leaves the bed *unmade and I get to take the most wonderful nap amongst the covers and sheets. Yes, I, the Diva Island Princess Cat, love to wallow in my humans sweet scents (*this rarely happens at our house) Well what I expected to find was not what I found. Mom had already taken off the old sheets, no lovely scents just the smell of NOTHING. You see mom is allergic to detergents and dryer sheets with fragrances. Everything she uses is what she calls FREE. Here I sit trying to digest this state of affairs.....

I looked back one more time to be sure my eyes and my Mom had not deceived me....but alas they had...

So there is nothing else to do except jump ship.....ahoy below one cat walking the plank.
Once I get over this sad state of affairs there will be demerits.

  1. My Mom uses that "free" stuff too. That's why I gotta roll around all over it so at least there is ONE good smell on that blanket. Some days she doesn't agree and pinches her nose holes shut. Sheesh...hoomans.

    Grrrrs from Gizzy.

  2. Oh poor Madi, how could your mom ruin your Saturday - we can just imagine your disappointment.
Martha also loves to jump right into the bed the humans have vacated - nothing better.

  3. Ooh. Mom's in trouble. Kitty demerits are nothing to sneeze at. I'm so sorry about your Saturday going awry like that Madi. This kind of thing mustn't be allowed to go on.

  5. You mom is one wise woman. All that fragrant chemical laden stuff isn't good for you.

    Mom - you are funny.

  6. I know how you feel. I love to snuggle in the still warm bedding and hate it when it disappears.

  7. Madi,
How unfair! We love the bed just after the People get up...warm, smelly, wrinkly sheets and tangled blankets. Salem especially loves to burrow into the down blanket.
We think a 3 AM bladder-stomping is the proper punishment.

  10. Our mama can totally relate to your mama....she has "fits" with some ingredient that is in most products to add supposedly a good smell!!!!!!! ....poor granddaughter has to put her "stinky stuff" on in her car!!!!!!!!

Anyway, you can come check out our mama's bed anytime darling Madi.....we usually camp out on it before she can get it made!!!!!

  11. You should do what Jack does - wait until I'm making up the bed and THEN jump on it.

  12. Demerits sound worrying. We are not allowed on our human's bed but sometimes, particularly when I am wet and muddy, I creep upstairs and rub myself all dry on her duvet! Can't understand what all the fuss is about....

  14. Poor Madi! I would jump ship too! I understand how you feel! My mom is not nice to me at all when she washes her sheets! She shuts me out of her bedroom when she is doing it all!

  16. Hi, Madi!
Hmmm... that was not funny, right?
    Smelly sheets are grrreat!
My mom changes them twice a week. She says it is for something called "Lorenza's scent"!
    Happy Saturday!
    Kisses and hugs

  17. Aw Madi, I'm sorry you Saturday morning got ruined. My mom uses all that free stuff too so there are no smells, how boring. Maybe next time your mom will forget to wash them.

    RE: Memo
How to keep a cat off the counter tops? I have no idea. Tasha was always on the counters, table, top of the fridge, everywhere.

Cindi never gets on the counters, she seems to have no interest. She doesn't get on the bed either, even when invited. My poor little rescue kitty spent part of her kittenhood living under shrubs and fending for herself and didn't learn all of the fun stuff. She is still nervous about a lot of normal everyday things. Even kitty toys, she will play sometimes by herself and drag one around but is hesitant to play if Steve or I are in the room or want to play with her. She does like to snuggle with me on the sofa and watch tv.
