Potluck Friday #3....

It is impossible to keep a straight face in the presence of one or more kittens.

What an appropriate quote for today's pictures.
Mom here: Today my pot runneth over with Joy!!!
I cannot tell you all how happy I was to find these three pictures of Madi and her sister Lucy. All three were taken on May 11, 2002, the day Madi's Dad and I adopted Madi and my brother-in-law adopted Lucy. We took both kitties to both our homes so they could play a little bit more before separating them. These are the only three pictures of Madi and Lucy together in the World...
Madi is on the left.
Madi and Lucy conquered the steps at our house in about 2 seconds...again Madi on the left.
Lucy had just a touch of gray in her fur but most of it was muted with hints of orange.

In this last picture, they are playing at Lucy's house. Our hope was to be able to take Madi or Lucy to the other's home when we were away.
This was the last picture of them playing 'nice'. Three weeks after this picture was taken, my brother-in-law brought Lucy to our house supposedly to stay for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, they did not remember each other. Madi became very territorial, first hint of her Divaness. I expect Lucy was a bit frightened by her new surroundings. Within about 20 minutes I was packing Lucy up to take her home. For the next 2 weeks I went to Lucy's house every day to take care of her.

  1. Hi Madi and Mom,
Can't believe we are first here!Happy Friday 13th to you both.
Now Madi weren't you just the cutest little kitten - you looked very sweet with your sister.
How sad that once seperated you then didn't want to play - still it can be hard sharing your humans.
It is your house after all................!
    Happy Birthday to Andy.

  3. Oh my goodness Madi, you were the most adorable kitten. In the first photo that looks like one of those things that you find the right shaped block and put it through the right hole, looks like you were studying it very carefully Madi. You were smart even as a tiny kitten.

You and Lucy are so cute playing together, too bad you didn't get along later.

    Happy B day to Andy!

  17. Hi Madi and Mom,
Oh you were the cutest little kitten I ever saw, Madi!!!!!
Animals are like that. Once they are seperated they are in competition with each other for food, attention, and everything they need.

  18. Awww, that is sad that they didn't get along. I wonder why it happened so quickly?

Jack has met some of his siblings. He was just excited because it was more dogs to play with! :)

  19. Hi Madi! You and Lucy together are so cute!

And we are not surprised that after a few weeks they didn't recognize each other - we had Gus and Stella see their brother and sister Louise and Cosmo at the vets office (their mom is the vet nurse) only a week after they moved in and they were hissing at each other and growling.
