Wednesday Words for Madi

The heart shaped leaf is from a Red Bud tree in our yard.

My sweet girl dreaming.....
Note from Mom: In the spring the red bud has beautiful lavender blooms. I don't know why it is called a red bud. After the blooms fade, very interesting little pea pods form on it followed by the beautiful heart shaped leaves. Ironic thing is we didn't plant it...it just popped up voluntarily in the most purrfect spot.

  2. Good things often do pop up in unexpected ways. Take me, for instance; mum thought I was going to be a Westie (she thick) and then she saw me and fell right in love.

Looks like your hooman can handle an icing bag Madi.

  3. Hi Madi and Mom, how lovely to have heart shaped leaves in your garden!
Very pretty. We would probably eat the pretty leaves right enough but we are sure Madi wouldn't do such a thing.
    Have a lovely day

  4. Hi Madi & Mom,

The heart shaped leaf is a perfect message for Miss Madi. Red bud trees are so pretty, as I remember from my southern days. I rarely see them here.

Madi seems to be having very sweet dreams. We will tiptoe out quietly so as not to disturb her.

    Cindi Lou and Mom

  9. Awwww...that's so sweet! And so is Madi!

Did you know the redbud is the state tree of Oak-luh-home-ah where my mom grew up? (We mighta told you that before.) In Oak-luh-home-ah, the flowers are a bright pink color. Maybe there are different kinds of redbud trees? Either way, they're pretty!

  22. I agree with you about the red bud.
It is beautiful when it blooms.
But once it stops it's rather plain and in the winter time it is like a twig tree.
