Pot Luck Friday #12 Surprise !!!!

Mom is going to show you two of her favorite pictures from the trip she and
Dad took to Alaska in 2005........
I,MADI, WAS LEFT AT HOME WITH JUST MY MOUSE.
If you think I look forlorn, you are right even though it is 5 years later, I'm still upset....they didn't even invite me to go!!!
FYI: Mom is all about anything Alaskan!!!

This was the 4th picture Mom took with her very first digital camera...she was amazed that she could take such a nice picture. She and Dad were on a paddle boat cruise on the Chena River.
This float plane demonstrated a landing and take off....AMAZING!!!

This next picture will leave you speechless....it is the very picture that really tells the story of
Alaska's Grandness!!!
The picture was taken from Mom and Dad's cruise ship, Dawn Princess, looking across the bay at another cruise ship. In the middle of the bay, there is a tiny tug boat chugging along.....YES that is a real tug boat not a toy. The cruise ship dwarfs the tug boat and one of Alaska's gorgeous mountain ranges dwarfs the cruise ship.

Thanks for coming by
Mom and (Not) Madi

  1. WOW!! Beautiful! Never been to Alaska -- thanks for sharing these photos.
I'm sure Madi is still unhappy about not being invited ;)

  2. We are sorry you are still suffering the ill effects of getting left behind!

Alaska is lovely! Mom remembers fondly when she was much younger she went with her mom and dad to visit her older brother who was teaching school there! She only went there once but has always wanted to return! Maybe someday she says... hmmmmm!

  3. Hi Madi & Mom,

C, those are great shots. You really captured the splendor of Alaska. I fly in all kinds of planes while in AK but never did manage to wrangle a ride in a float plane, that is a cool photo.

Sorry you didn't get to go Madi, but at least you had mousie to keep you company.

We absolutely love and adore your new header. Madi in her Diva hat is so cute!!!

  7. I'm with Mom! Alaska is amazing! My father used to mail our Christmas cards from North Pole Alaska every year when he's go up their on business from where we lived in Seattle. People loved getting cards with that postal mark! But Madi...they didn't take you, sweet girl, because it is freezing up there...sometimes even in the summer!
Sending you a scratch under your chin,
    Ann
PS What a great picture of the plane!

  15. First of all, Madi, I barked right out loud at you in your new diva hat in the header! You look super awesome!

And thank you for sharing those pictures. They're SO Most Wonderful! I'm sorry you didn't gets to go. But if you're like my kittehs, you wouldn't like going on a trip anyway. Better to stay at home and keep everything under control there.

  16. The scenery is just awesome...but Madi, I think I'd be more comfortable being left home with you than going on a cruise ship. And I'm not a cold weather person, so you and I would have had more fun, playing by the fireside.

But, to be honest, that plane photo is stupendous!!!!

  18. Your new header is amazing!

Madi, If your Mom had not gone to AK, I never would have met her through AC...so I'm so happy she went, OK?
But to leave you home with only your MOUSE, is unforgivable.

  19. I do agree with Mom. Alaska is a "must visit" place. Even for someone like me, who hates traveling. But, it's just too bad that she didn't take you, and your mouse, along.

  29. I cannot believe they went so far away and left you all alone. That is simply shocking. Did you call the ASPCA? Alaska does look pretty amazing, I have to admit. Did they at least bring you home some salmon?
