BREAKFAST AT MADI'S .....COME JOIN US

THIS IS WHERE I RESTED MY BONES
WHILE MOM AND DAD MADE
SCONES**

Pull up a chair, pour some coffee and help yourself to a delicious Cranberry Orange Scone

MOM IS ON VACATION FOR 2 WEEKS....SHE SAYS WE ARE IN FOR LOTS OF TREATS
THIS WAS HER FIRST ATTEMPT AT SCONES.   DAD HELPED!!
THE RECIPE CALLED FOR ROUGHLY CHOPPED FRESH CRANBERRIES. I WATCHED WHILE DAD CUT UP EACH
AND EVERYONE OF THEM.  SEEMS TO BE ALL IN THE WRIST. WELL DONE DAD!!

WHEN THEY CAME OUT OF THE OVEN (boy did they smell good), DAD SAMPLED THEM.

HE SAID,'THESE ARE BETTER THAN ANY SCONES I'VE EVER HAD'!!!

DAD CERTAINLY KNOWS WHO BUTTERS HIS BAGELS AND BAKES HIS SCONES
**DAD ALSO CAME UP WITH THIS LINE

  1. OMD! Those look delicious! My mom is very impressed that these were your moms' first scones! They look perfect in the picture. My mom is a pretty good cook, but she can't bake to save her life!

  3. Hi Madi & Mom,

Two weeks off to make goodies! We are catching the first plane out to your place!!!

The scones look delicious, I have never had the nerve to make them. But then baking is not my best culinary skill.

Madi, you look like you were in a good place to snoopervise and still catch all the wonderful smells.

Hope you are all having a great weekend. We are having snow and freezing fog.

    Hugs & Purrs,
    J and Cindi Lou

  6. OH! Those smell delish! I asked Mom to make some, since she won't bring me to your house. Something about the "boy" coming and needing to get things ready for him. Geesh! Guess I am on the back burnner today! Billy

  7. Mmmmm, those scones look delicious. And, good for Dad for helping out. But, did Mom make a catnip scone for you, Madi?

  8. Those scones look delicious. Here in Devon we have plain or fruit scones split in half with Devon clotted cream on each half and jam on top of the cream. If you come from the neighbouring county of Cornwall, you have jam first and then Cornish clotted on top.

Will Mom share her recipe? Although I'm not sure I can handle the flour...might look like a Lucy episode!

  10. Madi, Dad is smart to both help in the baking and dishing out the compliments! MOL
I can almost taste them now! The tartness of the cranberries, the warm soft dough.
Don't eat too many of them!
