TWAS 'TWO NIGHTS' BEFORE CHRISTMAS: BY MADI AND MOM

'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, WHEN ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE NOT A CREATURE WAS STIRRING NOT EVEN A MOUSE

IN HOPES THAT ST. NICHOLAS WOULD SOON BE THERE. THE CHILDREN WERE NESTLED ALL SNUG IN THEIR BEDS, WHILE VISIONS OF SUGAR-PLUMS DANCED IN THEIR HEADS.
AND MOM NOT IN HER'KERCHIEF, AND I IN MY CAP,
HAD JUST SETTLED DOWN FOR A LONG WINTER'S NAP
WHEN OUT ON THE LAWN THERE AROSE SUCH A CLATTER, I SPRANG FROM MY BED TO SEE WHAT WAS
THE MATTER

AWAY TO THE WINDOW I FLEW LIKE A FLASH.  TORE OPEN THE SHUTTERS AND THREW UP THE SASH.
THE MOON ON THE BREAST OF THE
THE NEW FALLEN SNOW, GAVE THE LUSTER OF MID-DAY TO OBJECTS BELOW.
WHEN, WHAT TO MY WONDERING EYES SHOULD APPEAR, BUT A FREAK WITH A BEAK AND A BRIGHT BLUE HAT.  HE WAS NOT STEADY ON HIS FEET BUT WAS ABLE TO  TWEET THAT HE HAD LOST HIS TAIL FEATHERS AND COULD NO LONGER EAT.
 I LOOKED AT HIM HARD,
EXAMED HIM LONG, AND FOUND, MUCH TO MY GLEE
THAT HIS TUSH WAS REALLY NOT FEATHER FREE
HE ASKED ME TO PLEASE GIVE HIM A FLIP
SO THAT HE ONCE AGAIN HE WOULD BE ABLE TO SIP

TO THIS I AGREED, HE BID ME ADIEU,
BUT I HEARD HIM EXCLAIM AS HE FLEW OUT OF SIGHT....
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.

  5. Hi Madi & Mom,

We have decided we like your version of the poem better than the original. Madi, the bird looks like fun and it was nice of you to help him on his way.

Have a great visit with your guests and a Merry Christmas to all.
