Tongues in particular Mine...Madi

Please click to enlarge

Mom is very proud of this picture. After nearly a year of trying to get a picture of my tongue,...she did it. This picture was taken as soon as Mom opened this package that contained lots of catnip toys. Little did we know it would take participating in Paw it Forward (June 7 Post) and a box full of catnip to get Madi to lick her chops!!!

Friday Flashback with Milky-Way & friend

This quote says it all....
"Animals are such agreeable friends---they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms."
~~George Eliot from "Who's Kitten Who" by C. Baxter.
Well as they say all good things come to an end...today's picture of Milky-Way will be the last one ...unless Mom finds another stash of old pictures hidden somewhere.
Thanks Milky-Way for this long stroll down Memory Lane.
As of Friday, July 23, we'll be presenting 'Pot Luck Fridays'....
Like any pot luck gathering, you don't know what you get. We hope you get your fill or at least it makes you think, smile or just enjoy.

Doorbells: I don't like them

I should have known when the table was moved there was trouble brewing...
then it happened. Ding dong the wicked door bell chimes. I took cover just enough to
see who might be daring to request admittance into my domain

Ok I don't recognize that voice or that smell who it is? I hope it is not a
R E P A I R M A N...they come and never know when to leave.
Yep it is the guest that never leaves...so I hid behind my couch and yes
there might be a little dust back her but I don't care.....I can see the feet of the intruder

Anytime we have the intruders, Mom always stands close by because they often forget to close doors as they go and come....they not only don't know when to leave but they are careless

This is me giving mom a pitiful look asking have they left yet?

Welcome to the 21st Century

Madi here today with the help of a hired 'hand'!! Shhhh don't tell Mom.
For those of you who don't know, Mom and Dad are 'older than dirt', which means they go kicking and screaming into each century. Lo and behold, they finally stepped into the 21st century thanks to my Sis (sometimes she is pretty smart and definitely has a few secrets on the care and feeding of the peeps).
I turned my head in disbelief when Mom opened this box.
Now that I have your attention let me tell you about this giant step they took.
They

are you ready

ordered
a
GPS

Introducing my new sibling Gretel aka 755T Garmin Nuvi
Mom decided to call her Gretel because she is very good a leaving just the right size bread crumbs leading them to their destination.
Gasp I know every one on the planet has one except Mom and Dad.

I, for one, am thrilled about this purchase.

My biggest fear is that one day they will leave the house never to find their way home.
(REMINDER: older than dirt...thus the memory is fading too)!!

WHO WOULD FEED ME?
Thankfully this will never, ever happen because Gretel has a 'go home button' with our address built in. Whoopee!!!
Thanks again Sis for a human who claims to be THE reigning Diva (NOT) of the house
you are pretty smart.
Madi and her tummy signing out.
Remember don't tell Mom about this secret post.

Happy Cat Badge and Mom what are you doing?

Madi's little pink nose turned crimnson when she received this lovely badge from
Eric and Flynn and their Mom. They live across the Big Pond on a beautiful farm in Plymouth. Their blog title is Eric and Flynn's Adventures. They have adventures all felines dream about.
Madi is indeed a happy cat and feels honor to have received an official badge. Today's post
is a perfect example of what makes Madi a Happy Cat.

So ....this is what happened. I'm sitting peacefully sleeping on the peeps bed when all of a sudden Mom feels the need stops to admire my silky fur and to run her fingers .... well that was so aggravating nice of her it prompted me to give her this peeved loving look you see to the left. Evidently, it pleased Mom, and we all know if mom is happy we are all happy. Anyway, she squealed (she does that a lot)...oh my word Madi I have to take a picture don't move? What, I'm a cat I'll do as I please. But it just so happens, currently, I don't want to move.

So the picture below is what she was so excited about...My fur was so

thick her fingers left track marks.

I guess I don't really mind because I get brushed everyday which is why my fur is so lush and thick.

Can you all say D I V A?

Steeple Sunday: St. Mark's United Methodist Church

St. Mark's United Methodist is located on Six Forks Road in Raleigh on what was rural farmland. Seven acres were purchased for $7,000 for the proposed new church in June 1954. The Board of Missions authorized the purchase of an Armco steel building in December of 1954...this would be the temporary Chapel for the church. Twenty seven people were present at the first service on Palm Sunday, March 25, 1956. Construction for the permanent building you see below began on May 1, 1957.

Over the years, I must have past this church hundreds of times; however, until the day I stopped to take the picture I had never noticed the steeple is on the back end of the church and how small it is. Over the last few months I have featured several Methodist churches, all of which had fairly substantial steeples and all in the front of the church.

The picture below is of the front entrance of the church. This is a lovely welcoming entrance,
all who enter are welcomed by this beautiful front door and protected from the elements by the ample covered area.

Someone at the church has a green thumb and a sense of humor. This lovely patch of flowers run along the side of the church. I got a real chuckle out of this sign, "ant crossing". The plants in the below picture are just a few feet from the ant crossing sign.
Mom and Dad are taking a road trip for the day...she said she might be late checking in with everyone and wishes you all a happy Sunday.
Thanks for stopping by,
Madi and Mom
