ANNOUNCEMENT: WE'RE BACK!!!!!

WELL FRIENDS IT HAS BEEN A GRUELING FEW
DAYS FOR ME MOM.  SHE'LL GIVE YOU A 'NUTSHELL UPDATE'....BUT LET ME JUST SAY
HBO WORDS WERE HEARD AND MADE NOTE OF
AND THERE WILL BE DEMERITS.
PEOPLE WHO LOVE CATS HAVE SOME OF THE BIGGEST HEARTS AROUND

COMPUTER ISSUES:
....STARTED ON Friday afternoon at 3 pm. I had been using antivirus program from NC State University that will terminate 4/30/11. I was trying to take that off Friday so that I could install McAfee Antivirus that we purchase.  Long story short by 7:30 Friday it became clear the problem was not to be resolved over the weekend.  Totaling Friday and today's time on the phone has been 8 hours to accomplish this task.  I'm happy to report we are 100% protected.
YES there were HBO words and thoughts all during the 8 hours.  I was about ready to toss the entire computer into the wind.

TORNADOES IN NC:

Saturday started out with severe weather warnings for the afternoon. We stayed close by the tv most of the afternoon. Then about 3 pm a tornado touched down about 40 miles south of us. It was moving fast and headed in a straigth line toward our section of Raleigh. At 3:45 pm they predicted it to be over an area by 4.   Thankful about that time Madi walked through the den.  Madi Dad said we need to move to the bathroom. I scooped up the Diva in a very unDiva like fashion.  Getting Madi in her carrier is like putting a child in a high chair except she has four legs and they all went in four directions.  I literally pushed her in her carrier (which she hates). Madi, Mom and Madi Dad were  in 1/2 bathroom with the weather radio. We were able to hear how the storm was tracking. Just as it got about 20 miles from us it turned to northeast Raleigh heading downtown. We are in the northwest portion of Raleigh. By about 4:02 is was in southeast Wake county where most of the damage occurred. We had no damage to our home but the devastation in other parts of our city and other cities is just horrible. I don't know if you have seen any of the pictures on tv but the homes and business look like a war zone.  Entire neighborhoods have been demolished.

PS:  Evidently Mom doesn't know the meaning of 'in a nut shell'!!!

Thank you to Ms. K for posting on her blog that we were ok.

I was so relieved to hear from you Saturday...I had been watching the storms move into Raleigh all day and was worried sick!

So much sadness and destruction across the south, especially NC. I hope our storm spring weather is over!

  14. We're so glad you're all safe! OMC, how frightening! The computer virus protection issues are small annoyances, not important in the grand scheme of things. (But we're glad that's all taken care of just the same.)

  20. We know how awful the computer things are. Our problem has been with our ISP. For nearly a month we've had terrible connection issues (their fault not Mom's computer) and finally things broke for a few days completely. No innernets. Hopefully resolved at least for now. WE are glad you were able to get your AV snafu worked out.
WE HAD BEEN SO WORRIED about you! (and your Mom and Dad too Madi) We are glad you are safe. We've been through severe tornado warnings too. So we know the drill.
Our prayers for all of those affected.

  23. So glad to hear that everything is OK. Mom was going to email you yesterday and then remembered you were having computer problems, so not hearing anything back would have been more worry. A daughter of a friend of mine lives in Wake County but we haven't been able to get in touch with anyone there yet. Assuming the power is probably out.

Glad your computer is fixed again. :o)

  24. Rosie here - Good for you for fighting going in that carrier. Our job in times likes these is to make life just a little more stressful for our parents. Dogs make things easier, but we cats must balance things out.

Pip, Mama, and I are all so happy you are OK!

    Love, Rosie (and Pip, too)

  33. First time visitor to your blog, but saw mention of you on Dog Daze and had to come visit. We live in the extreme Western end of NC.

We were saddened at all of the devastation from the tornados. Fortunately, all of our friends in the area are safe and sound. Even though we have never met, glad to hear you are safe as well.
