STEEPLE SUNDAY #37, FIRST BAPTIST CARY, NC

Good Sunday Morning to you all.

On Tuesday, December 13, the peeps decided to take a little trip about 20 minutes West of Raleigh
to Cary, NC.  I told them not to worry I'd be fine sitting right here on the Christmas bow box and I'd be
sure no bows escaped.

Thank goodness the flashy beast went with them.  As you can see from the pictures below,
it was a beautiful December day.  After lunch at Ashworth's, they walked down Academy Street
to take some pictures of The First Baptist Church of Cary.
Mom searched Google for info on this beautiful Church.  She found several books for sale all about the history. We're sorry not to be able to tell you a lot about it except what Mom remembers.
When she was just a wee girl about 9 years old they lived in Cary and attended this church
The church celebrated it's 100 Anniversary in 1971 so it is at least 140 years old.
This is a picture of the new sancutary.
The steeple is absolutely amazing and very tall
Mom thinks it is one of the most beautiful steeples she has featured.
Below is a picture of the sanctuary where Mom and her peeps attended services.
The columns make for a very grand entrance.
The newer construction was joined to the old as if it had always been there.

  2. That is a really tall steeple and we agree, it is one of the most beautiful. I really like the photo of the steeple with the blue sky and just a few branches, that is gorgeous.

Madi, we are sure your peeps were much more comfortable leaving the house knowing you were guarding those bows and making sure they stayed put.

  11. Oooooooh! Madi, your peeps picked a lovely day to photograph a beautiful steeple! And to have a story behind the church--that it was the one your Mom attended as a kitten is great. It reminds Mommy of the churches in the ares where she grew up; old and majestic.
    So, no bows escaped, eh?

  16. So many of the newer churches here are built without steeples - what a shame! That Baptist church has an amazing steeple - and for its age, it is in such excellent condition. It must be a well-loved church.

Madi, we see some bows on the floor here, do you think they escaped from your box while you were napping?
