MEET MY CABINET: WYATT AND STANZIE

TODAY IS EARTH DAY

and a very appropriate day to interview our
SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE
WYATT AND HIS SISTER STANZIE

1) Please introduce yourself(selves) and tell us your age and a very special trait.
Wyatt is 4, his special trait is 'Veggie Taste Taster'  and Stanzie is 11, her special trait is 'Vermin Control Supervisor.'
2) If you had an alter ego, who would you like to be and why?
Wyatt considers himself a modern day 'Johnny Appleseed'. Spreading edible seeds for all to enjoy!
Stanzie just wants to be 'Super-Wonderful Girl Dog'!!

3) What do you like best/least about where you live?
Wyatt loves our temperate weather, all things green and the year around swimming. Stanzie likes the critter count per acre in Oregon. They both would like some more snow in the winter months...you other snow hounds, make it look SO grand!
4) Who are some peeps/furiends you would like to meet?
The peeps next dream vacation, is the Chelsea Flower Show in England and then stopping to meet 'George the Lad' and all our other blog pals in the UK! Still trying to figure out how to ever get away, during our busy spring schedule! Wyatt and Stanzie don't care where we go, as long as we are together and it involves car travel and a long walk!
5)If you could give one piece of random advice what would it be?
Persistence Pays! Never stop demanding walks and car rides!
6) What do you do for Fun?
Walks, Car Rides..... and Gardening!
7) What is the first thing you do each morning?
Demand walks and car rides. Maybe a bite to eat before....
8)What is the first thing you notice about a new friend?
Do they smell swell? Do they wag?
9) Tell us how you came to live in your family and how you got your name?
Stanzie came from the east, down the Oregon Trail, in Baker City, Oregon. She is named after Wolfgang Mozart's beloved wife, Constanza Marie Weber. Wyatt came from the Rock'n A Kennel. He is named after Wyatt Earp. A conflicted western lawman.
10) What is your absolute favorite food?
Stanzie's favorite food is TURKEY, paws down....don't even have to think twice!  Wyatt's favorite food is, "What is that, YOU are eating?'"

Bonus:
Wyatt and Stanzie neither mom nor I have a green thumb..come to think of it I don't even have a thumb.
We would like to know when your start to prepare your Spring garden and which veggies to you find are quickest to sprout and produce something delish?

We grow alfalfa and radish sprouts all year around in the kitchen...with just a mason jar and some cheese cloth. When the weather turns warmer, the first seeds we plant outdoors are radish, spinach and peas. They are tough buggers, that sprout in the cold! When the summer temperatures arrive we enjoy our heirloom tomatoes and squash, that we preserve in many ways to last us all year. Happy Digging!

  5. Wyatt sounds like a real master gardener and Stanzie an awesome wonder girl. We need to have a talk with Wyatt one behalf of our Mama. She can grow all kinds of flowers but veggies die almost as soon as she plants them. Maybe Wyatt could give her some pointers.

  6. We love Wyatt and Stanzie aka raccoon face. They are pawsome gardeners. Our garden is months behind now due the bad weather. We are envious of Wyatts' great harvests. Have a marvelous Monday. Great interview Madi.
