Tuesday Tale

Today's tale is about friendship and loyalty.
Such as my faithful mousie and the old gray mare's hand
both are trusted friends who offer me hours of
love, fun and most of all FEED ME.

Another trusted, faithful friend of our family is
Dad's 1994 Ford Explorer.  OMCs yes it was owned and loved
for nearly 21 of the 44 years my peeps have been married.
Loyalty like that is rare in a car.  Mom fondly calls it
the Lean Green Dino Machine....

It runs well (105,000 miles on it)
Dad took very good care of it....but
last week the a/c was not working and the windows would not
go down completely...here in the South a/c and working windows are a must.  Needless to say it was time to give this trusted friend
a face lift.  Mom and Dad donated it to The Kidney Foundation.
Sasha we are thinking of your Dad today!!
The tow company came for it on 6/18/14...
The Kidney Foundtaion will fix the a/c and give it a spit shine and polish then auction it...the funds go toward Kidney Research
Click here for details on donating your vehicle
this is the 2nd car we have donated.
Good bye trusted friend, may your next family
love you as much as your first family.

Introducing Gracie our new family car
Gracie is a 2014 Toyota Highlander.
She is Grayish Blue and very comfy.  My untechie peeps
are still learning about all her features but they are sure
she will be fun to drive ....

Gracie, I, Madi, say welcome and live long and prosper
and my your loyalty be rewarded with at least
20 years of TLC by my peeps too.
I look forward to riding in your to my next Vet Appointment

  2. My human and her cars have terrible relationships! I don't think she's ever wanted to hang onto one for more than a few years. She SHOULD be donating her exes.

Mum says we need a new one too (Nigel the Ford Mondeo will be 12 in September) Mum probably hasn't looked after it as well as your Dad would have done.... And I need a big car, of course. Mum is currently looking for extra pennies down the basck of the sofa......

  10. Have always a good and safe trip with Gracie. I understand that ole cars are somehow like members of the family. My mom cried two days for Kim's Revenge the Hyundai and the whole family once cried as the breakdown truck had to come to pick up Adam the Opel ( a neighbor who asked what happened was speechless as he heard we were sad for the car, and he gave us a wide berth since) I'm glad that your Ford will help to raise money for a very good cause. welldone.

  15. Welcome to Gracie! Our mom has a 1998 Ford Explorer. It has just 80,000 miles on it. The interior looks like new and the outside looks good with just a few scratches. She drives it about once every 3 weeks, just to move the fluids around.

  22. I'd say you're Dad got a long lease of life out of his 1994 Explorer. Mom has a 2005 Explorer that has over 100,000 miles. Dad was freakin out thinking something was wearing out on it & they had it checked top to bottom at the Ford place and it came back clean as a whistle. Mom says she wants to keep it for awhile longer. But we'd be hard to beat the 1994...although Dad has a Ranger that is the 1989 edition! Teehee and it runs!
