vacation, they visited the Louis Ginter Botanical Gardens in
Richmond, VA. Louis Ginter (1824-1897) was a prominent businessman, Army officer and philanthropist.

| Yesterday I was staring out the window... then I decided to give mom a chance at an over the shoulder stinky eye pose...luckily she was ready!! |
Mom was all kinds of excited to visit the gardens.
Now she has 87 million photos for Flower Friday.
There was also beautiful butterfly and orchid houses.
Today we are sharing some orchids and moths.
The Atlas Moth is quite rare we expect he is kept in the tent for safety
since folks are walking around.

ReplyDeletethat's a giant moth... wonder if it is tasty, hehe. the orchids are wonderful, it's great to see them blooming. Our orchids have no flowers, not even my mom is brave enough to take a photo and to show that disaster to blogville. have a super friday!

ReplyDeletethat is one big and beautiful moth and all new to me... beautiful flowers and now we know mom will never ever never run out of flowers for posting... i do the same thing when i go to Selby, come home with zillions of flowers. and most of them have never been posted.... i could never take another photo and post one every day until i die

There are now so many variants of orchids and they are really beautiful. It's so tempting to buy them (pretty common here) when Mommy sees them but she knows she'll most likely kill them within weeks.
ReplyDeleteAtlas moths are also very common here and we do find them around our homes sometimes. Sadly, we've also seen what's left of them on the ground after Stinky's had a go at them. :(
