Raz and I quickly changed into our Denim
and boots..(I took a double dose of Geritol too). Now it is time for a little boot scoot boogie.

| FEBRUARY 14, 1970 As you can see, Mom's love of red has been lifelong. Her attendants wore red dresses PEOPLE OFTEN SAY AHHHHH WHEN WE TELL THEM OUR ANNIVERSARY IS FEBRUARY 14TH. We always say thanks to USMC they helped us with the date. At the time my husband was in USMC Reserves (United States Marine Corp) . They had monthly reserve drills. Shortly after our August 1969 engagement we decided to get married in February 1970. My husband started trying to find the exact date of the Feb. 1970 drill weekend. Days turned in to weeks then a few months passed. Still no date from the USMC. We had lots of reservations to book so we selected February 7, 1970, 2 pm. Lo and behold literally hours before I was going to mail the wedding invitations to the printer we found out the February 1970 drill was going to be on February 7, 1970. We made an 'about face' (pun intended) called all the folks we had reservations with to see if we could change to February 14, 1970. Thankfully everyone was A ok with the change. Our church had another wedding on 2/14/70 at 2 pm. We changed out time to 4 pm.
We thank the USMC for helping us choose the
day of Love for our Wedding Day.
