EXCITEMENT AT Casa de Madi

You will never believe what was in our 'hood Tuesday?!  Due to the huge amount of trees and limbs etc that fell with that last wet snow.  Raleigh has not had the manpower or the equipment to pick up the debris from all over the city.  They told everyone to put it at their curb.  A private contractor from Mobile, AL was hired. Jumpin' catfish they came Tuesday.
Reminder Picture from February 27, 2015

I sat right here at the top of the stairs during all the noise
First a front loader was on our street scooping up all the debris to take to one location.

By the time he finished piling up just our block of debris
it was about 6' high...
Then a few hours later this big truck arrived...
At the arrow there is a man sitting in a bucket contraption
operating a great big crane to lift the debris into the truck and trailer.

Every so often he would turn the crane to the front to pack things down.
When it was full he climbed down a ladder, pushed a button
on the trailer then magically an cover came over the debris

Thank goodness Mom got some great photos!!! The peeps have never seen any thing like the truck/trailer contraption they used to haul away!!
We say a great big THANK YOU to the HAULING AWAY DISASTER RELIEF
company from Alabama!!

  12. We actually have a big truck with a scooper come around every week. There is a regular brush pickup on Mondays and the things that don't fit in the bucket get picked up by the other truck.
